And there's the garage.

Scott reheats her portion.

"What's your job as an acolyte? Are you supposed to spread her domain?"

"Blasphemy is not exactly a very coherent concept in this context. You can't hurt a god with your thoughts. My job as acolyte is to be an interface between Ellayania and the people who believe in her."

"Hello boys. Pascale, how was your day?"

"It was good! Productive. Have you settled on a blessing you want?"

"I could use more stamina, if you don't mind."

"Here you go!" Boop!

She is booped!

"Thank you for that. And for blessing Scott and Isaac too."

She sits down and takes her sushi.

"Anything exciting happen today?"

Pascale describes her day. Domain and library and bowling and druids and Stiles.

"That's a bit too much excitement for one day. Are you holding up okay?"

"Oh yes, I'm fine. Being busy is much better than being bored."

"To each her own. I think I'd rather relax than have to rescue a town from itself."

"It's about responsibility. If no one else is doing a job, and you can, why not?"

Pascale smiles at Scott.

"That's a good way of putting it."

"Yeah, call me after you get the keys to the city."

He returns to enjoying his sushi.

"Did Ms. Morrell seem threatening when she talked to you? How did you feel?"

"Hmm, it was more ominous, than threatening? I think she was just letting me know that she knew I was there, and she was watching to see if I cause trouble."

"I can talk to her tomorrow, I don't want anything to get in the way of your plan to teach there."

"Well, if you think it will help. You know her better than I do."

"Okay. I think I will."

The rest of dinner passes quietly.

She and Scott begin clearing the table.

"Pascale, remind me in the morning that I promised to take you shopping."

"Sure."

Soon enough, it's time for bed.

There are no blood-curdling screams that night, which is always a plus.

Pascale does consider that a good thing, yes.

She's up bright and early the next day.

Melissa is making breakfast.

"Do you need anything before I go? We'll have to save the shopping trip until after my shift, but if there's anything urgent, tell me."
