She's standing in front of the wardrobe, which does indeed still (or already) have the bust and circlet on it. "This what we're looking for? It's definitely got an aura of some kind."

"That's the Diadem, yeah." She casts a few identification charms. "And it looks like it is possessed. Don't touch it."

"I'm not dumb."

"Killing Curse should work, right?"

"There can be a slight hypnotic/compulsive effect. Best dealt with by firm reminder."

"Yeah, that's the least dramatic way."

"It's not getting through my Occlumency." Shrug, and she points her wand firmly at the Diadem. Casually: "Avada Kedavra." A brilliant green light lashes out. The Diadem flares - and begins to burn. A dark mist rises above it, screams fading as it dies.

"One down."

Six to go, right?

That's the theory.

"Do you know for sure how many he'd made at this point? - And we should try to verify that other things are the same in this world..."

"At least the diary, the cup, and the ring. Most likely the locket as well, it's definitely in place by 1978. And yeah, that would be a good idea."

" - Relics of the Founders, right?"

"Hufflepuff's cup and Slytherin's locket. The diary was his own, and the ring belonged to the Gaunt family, which he's connected to through his mother."

"Did he ever use a relic from Gryffindor?"

"Nope. Probably because the choices were Sorting Hat, which is too well-guarded, and the Sword of Gryffindor, which is hidden and also goblin-make. I'm not sure a horcrux would actually take on it."

"Might be worth double checking."

"Just to be sure."

"We should go talk to Fay - even before Dumbledore, I think."

"I will leave it to you to make introductions."

She leads the way, deftly avoiding trafficked hallways - which involves taking out a very familiar piece of paper.

Lily, apparently, currently has a hold of the Marauder's Map.
