She smiles.  "Good night."

"Night."

As Tobi lies down and rolls over, Bryce returns to her own bed, and curls up in it, and eventually does fall asleep.

The next morning, she goes on her morning flight/ patrol again, then checks on Bryce.

She's cooking breakfast again, so that's probably a good sign.

"Hi, Raine.  Nice patrol?"

"Yeah. How're you doing?"

"Okay.  I wound up talking to Tobi a little bit last night."

"You don't sound super okay. What happened?"

"She actually seemed - not bad?  I don't know.  She just offered to talk to me about stuff.  She thinks, like... other magical girls are less dangerous than we think.  Like, we're supposed to be solitary, but that doesn't mean we're inherently dangerous."

"Some people are eternal optimists, I suppose."

She sighs.  "I guess.  At least Tobi is - maybe okay."

"She might be. We don't know her very well, though."

Definitely not keeping Tobi.

She shrugs.

Soon, Tobi wakes, and breakfast is served.

Later that day, when Tobi and Raine are both out on a run:

"Hey Raine?  I don't know if Bryce told you, but - she accidentally woke me up last night and we got to talking.  She seems kinda - not holding up great."

"Yeah. She has some - things in her past. We're working on it, but..."

"Seems like she thinks you're the only trustworthy magical girl in the world.  I was thinking about putting her in touch with the League, did I tell you about them?"

That is not good.

"Yeah, you mentioned them. I don't know that she's ready? Especially with how worked up she's been the last few days, this's a - bad time for her. If you leave their numbers with me I can get them to her once everything's calmer, though."

"You know her better than me.  I'll probably tell them about her, too, so they know who she is if she decides to get in touch."

"Ask her first maybe, about telling other people. But otherwise that works."

"Yeah, fair.  - Although I guess if I'm gonna ask her to give her info to the League, it'd be a bit weird to not just give her the League's contact info then.  Plus, like - how bad is having the option to talk to someone else really gonna fuck her over?  I mean, you do know her better than me, but."

"It'd make her really anxious mostly, since she'd be torn between talking to them and not, and she'd fret about both decisions. But, yeah, that is a bit of a pickle. Hm... You could give them my contact details? She often asks me to make calls for her anyways, it helps with the anxiety, so I'd probably be contacting them first."

She nods.  "That works.  Maybe I'll stick around for a while, or swing back this way in a week or two?"

"Swinging back this way might work out better. Don't get me wrong, we like having company, but the house tends to feel crowded after a few days."

"Yeah, I gotcha.  Me and my tech guy are pretty sure we got the right witch, so I can head out in a day or two, say."  She fishes in her pocket for her phone, and calls up Mallory's contact info.
