Hm. Planning to stick around could be bad or good.

She returns, none the wiser of Raine's eavesdropping.  "Heya.  So, uh, what do you guys do all day out here when you're not fighting?"

"Read. Browse the internet. Go on walks, or head to one of the towns. If you're looking for something touristy, there's, like, nature stuff. Hiking and all."

"Mm, going for a run in the forest sounds nice, actually.  You guys wanna come along?"

"Sure thing."

"Yeah, okay."

"Awesome.  Why don't you guys lead the way, I bet you know all the best spots."

"Sure. There's some good hiking a bit to our west, a nice view at the top and everything, no too many people go there either, or there's a running path along the river."

"River sounds nice.  Lead the way."

A run along the river it is.

It is exceptionally scenic, and they hardly see anyone else, except for a few people in kayaks.

Tobi never quite enjoys scenic views of nature as much as she feels like she is supposed to, but she knows how to appreciate a pretty riverside path.

Bryce, as is usual for her, is quiet.

Raine can fill in some of the silence, but does just focus on running and looking at nature a lot.

Eventually, though, they have to head back, for a probably-fairly-late lunch.

Which Raine's fine preparing - she even mostly understands that other people don't share her bizarre tastes, so that's one thing.

Then Tobi will surely mostly applaud her cooking.

Good!

The rest of the day goes similarly. Raine runs a broad-sweeping patrol for witches in the afternoon, doesn't find anything more threatening than a familiar, helping confirm that Tobi might've gotten her target.

Tobi texts Tag with the good news before bed.

And to sleep, finally.

At last!  Tobi sprawls herself to bed.

- Bryce can't sleep.

She thinks about Tobi and she thinks about Raine.  Tobi might be dangerous, and she's staying with them, in the house.

(Bryce herself might be - Raine's being so accomodating, letting her stay here at all, offering to send Tobi off for her sake.)

She gets up, to get herself a drink of water, half just to have anything to do.

It's dark, but she knows the house well.  She's more ginger than she would be normally going through the living room, to avoid knocking against the unfolded couch.  There's a pitcher of cold water in the fridge - ice cold water sounds good, right now, actually.  She manages to serve herself without knocking anything over.

"Mmrm?"

Bryce jumps so violently that most of her glass of water winds up slopping down her nightshirt.
