The next day, as with every day, students must attend homeroom.
"We'd be undefeated in all sport though! A whole team of werewolves. Probably counts as cheating."
"I supppse because Hunters exist and would take offense. I'd be all for it otherwise. I would be a wise and kindly ruler."
"Yeah. They hunt werewolves and other creatures if we get too loud or out of line. It's why the secrecy is such a thing."
"There aren't any in town right now, Stefan would have mentioned it. And even if there was... they're like the Hydra. Killing them would be counterproductive."
"I'm a human, so they won't want to kill me. Is it a good idea to talk to them if they ever show up?"
"Maybe if they find out about me? I think if you talked to them before they knew about me, might be obvious who exactly you're trying to protect."
"One of your parents is coming."
She quickly stands and looks for someplace to hide.
Closet seems the safer option... she smiles at him in amusement and closes the door.
His mother steps into the room, glancing around. She seems disquieted by he posters, but only purses her lips.
"Are you joining us for lunch today?"
"Don't plan on it."
"Will you at least leave your room?"
"I know your code by now. No thanks."
"Fine. Be home by midnight if you want to leave and pretend you didn't."
She leaves, closing the door quietly behind her.
She waits till shes far enough away and steps out.
"She sounds charming."
"We can go to Damons apartment? I should get cleaned up before I need to head back to the Boarding House for the full moon tonight..."
"If you're hungry, you'll want to bring some food. I ran out of groceries and money the other day."
"No, I think I'm going good."
He takes his camera.
"I'll meet you outside. I think I'd break this thing trying to sneak out my window."
She hums in agreement and kisses him. "I'll see you in a minute then."
Then steps up to the window, opens it, looks and listens for a moment and then just jumps straight out. She lands perfectly on the ground and does not break both her legs.
And in a few minutes, after conversing with his parents, Matt is outside with a backpack and a camera.
"I'm guessing we're walking?"
"Unless you want to ask your parents to drive us, then yeah, we're walking."
She takes ahold of his hand.
He approves.
"There's a comic book shop, an antique shop, and a park within walking distance. If you want food we'll have to further."
"Let's head to the apartment first. I can shower and change into something more people appropriate." She fingers the shirt. "I like this shirt though. Smells like you."
She makes a face.
"Is that creepy? It sounded less creepy in my head," she laughs.
