Let her guess. They have to import it: it cannot be manufactured locally.

Indeed, such equipment requires specialized tools and processes.

So.

The pattern she is looking for...

Some form of coverup at an existing mine, where the isotope was discovered. Then the establishment of clandestine deep-core mining operations at more than a few locations. Then the transport of isotope from those locations to an equally clandestine refinery, and from there to the stockpile. All beginning within... hm. A year or less before the first detected importation of deep core mining equipment.

That's about right, based off this information.

They're coming up on the rendezvous point now.

Vincoria skims a few more abstracts from the analysts in her remaining time. Is there anything obvious she's missing?

She seems to have covered all the important information.

Not much more to be read in on, then.

Vincoria sets aside the remaining time in the journey for quiet contemplation.

And then they're at the rendezvous. It is, as advertised, an anonymous patch of space on the fringes of the Makeb system. There's a carrier frigate already here and it signals for them to dock in the forward hold.

Soph brings them in.

And once on board, they are escorted to a conference room where Occlus and several others are already waiting. She nods in greeting.

"Darth Vincoria. You've arrived, good. These are your team leaders. Captain Hanthor, in command of these commando units. Nadrin Tro, of the Science Bureau. Katha Niar, Logistics Division." Occlus indicates each of the attendees in turn, a scarred Cathar, a Neimoidian in a lab coat, and a short-haired woman in a typical bureaucratic suit.

Vincoria nods to each in turn, and smiles brightly.

"Good to meet you all."

"I assume you've fully familiarized yourself with the briefing materials?"

"Of course."

"Then we will begin." Occlus brings up a holo-image of Makeb. "This is a real-time projection. As you can see, settlements are concentrated on the northern half of the largest continent, here. Patches of industrial activity in the zones between and along the smaller western continent here, here, and here. Our first priority is securing a route on- and off-world."

"Ion storms means conventional covert dropships are not an option," says Captain Hanthor. "We'll have to take and hold one of the gravity hooks."

"...And how do you propose to maintain opsec?"

"Intercepted transmissions indicate the Hutts have recently instituted a planet-wide lockdown. Their mercenaries have taken control of all the hooks, no civilian travel either direction," says Niar.

Hanthor nods. "If we can jam transmissions to an isolated tower long enough to take control, we can fake the all-clear and further status reports."

"And if the Hutts decide they want to use that skyhook for non-civilian traffic?"

"That's why we take an isolated one. These three," he lights them up on the map, "have all seen negligible use, even prior to the lockdown."

"That might reduce the danger of discovery, but isolation causes problems as well. It reduces the background traffic our agents can hide in, and may also complicate extraction."

"We have better sensor stealth capabilities than the Hutts do. My opinion is that the tradeoff is worth it."

Soph nods in confirmation.

"Furthermore: do you plan to hold said skyhook indefinitely, while our inserted agents search for the stockpile?"

"I strongly suspect that events on this planet are coming to a head. Two weeks, no longer."

"And if two weeks pass and the stockpile is not found...?"

"We will likely have larger problems."
