True immortality is something Sith have chased for as long as there have been Sith. The methods have been various and gruesome, and almost invariably, failures. The most successful anyone has been is the Emperor. His ritual required the sacrifice of an entire biosphere, and thousands of Sith Lords. Which is not exactly a feat Occlus could replicate, even if she knew the preparatory steps. She has been investigating alternative methods, digging deep into her archives in search of an approach that is not immediately, obviously flawed.

It is a slow process. Over time, one thing becomes clear: the answer, if there is one, is not anything she already has. She'll have to cast a wider net. Occlus refocuses her search, looks for records of what became of previous immortality-seekers, who have vanished into the wider galaxy. She finds traces of one Darth Diabolus, who left the Empire almost a century with a small fleet and several thousand servants. He was chasing rumors of a Rakatan machine similar to the one Occlus found on Belsavis. He did not have much to go on, and apparently expected the venture to last several years. However slight, the leads are promising, and Occlus begins her own investigation.

Today will see that investment bear fruit. Occlus has patiently followed the trail left by Darth Diabolus across half a dozen sectors. The signs of his passage combined with her own further research say that this planet she is approaching is the end of the line, one way or another. She pulls back the hyperdrive lever, and a planet pops into view, blue with brown blotches. She starts up a scan of the system. Any sign of Diabolus's expedition?
