An invitation to a party appears on various university billboards inviting people to the Kappa Alpha greek house located in the mostly finished Castle Commonwealth mall on the edge of town. The notice instructs people to follow the access road at 67 Lost Nation drive and enter through the back door and promises that signs will be posted to guide people to the party itself.
Janitors and security guards both get a list of active teleporters in their area. At the moment that's just zero. There are references to Director-level privileges, those references seem to be sprinkled in a bunch of places if she runs a search but nothing has any hint of how one might acquire these director-level privileges.
"No way to get a list of teleporters until they are activated, until we have 'director level privileges'. Also no clue how to acquire them. We'll have to go looking for teleporters." she says to the room at large.
"Maybe they just want us to get comfortable here rather than rushing around and checking everywhere at once."
"Seems more likely that we're meant to explore, the question is what they get out of it."
"I don't know. Maybe it's to learn about us. They obviously have us outclassed in science, maybe this place is a test somehow."
"I think it is a good idea to look for teleporters, regardless. We can't really do anything about aliens testing us, so we should just try to do what makes the most sense. Carefully."
"Agreed, given that we don't know the agenda of the people who built this place we should just do what seems best until we know more."
"I think you're assuming too much, this place doesn't seem to be built by anyone mean. Until we have evidence otherwise we should assume they have a good reason."
"I'm happy to be here but they did abduct us. That is some evidence that they might not be the kindest people. They also haven't explained why which they could have easily done in the encyclopedia."
"If they were just curious about us and wanted to observe some people closely they could have like asked for volunteers or something. I'm sure plenty of people would have volunteered to come to a place like this and learn about alien technology in exchange for helping aliens learn about us."
"You might be right, maybe this is all some terrible game. I just don't want to believe that. If they don't have a nice reason it makes it less likely that we'll ever be able to go home." She steps over and hugs Claire.
Alex looks distinctly unimpressed. "Anyway, did anyone keep the codes to the other parties? Do we want to try visiting the other complexes?"
"Well yeah, I knew something weird was going on so of course I wrote all the codes down."
"I think that would be a good idea. Though I don't know how to priortize it."
Emily collects herself a bit, "It would be good to meet any other people who might be in the same situation."
