C'mon, you can do it...

Somehow Sola is suddenly on that hall and greets the guards, showing her ID and security key before ordering them to accompany her on an inspection of another secure area on that floor.

Wait, what?

Nice going Sola she guesses?

The other two thieves sigh in relief and resume their course to the boxes. Meadow pulls the correct box out of the block of boxes, and sets it on a table in front of Ferric. Ferric opens the first stage of the box using a digital key provided by Virica, then carefully cracks the mechanical lock. They extract a folder of paper documents and a storage drive from the box, close it up, and put it away. After storing the documents, both paper and digital, in a briefcase, the two exit in a orderly fashion and meet up with Venta, who flies them out in a bullhead.

Paper documents and a storage drive? Huh, that's interesting.

And a nice safe flight out.

Cut to a hotel suite across town, where everyone is meeting up in the aftermath. The team reviews what they got away with. Ceramos complains about losing the cash. Virica brags that the scroll she dropped on that desk stole a bunch of money from the FDC (Freeze Dust Company, which only coincidentally resembles the SDC) while they were in Sola's “custody”. Meadow and Ferric show off the haul from the safe deposit box. Sola applauds, saying that this'll be what they need to prove the FDC's corruption. Everyone congratulates each other on a job well done, toasts with their choice of drinks.

And then Meadow asks Sola how she got her and Ferric out of that jam when she had to be across the bank deploying the block of boxes at the same time.

Oooooooooooooooooh this is going to be good.

She leans forwards on her seat.

Sola walks over to the balcony, asks Meadow if she can borrow her lighter. Meadow tosses the engraved metal lighter across the room to Sola, who lights a cigarette and leans back against the railing, then vanishes the lighter into pocketspace. Meadow objects briefly, but then — the door to the suite opens, and in walks Citrine. Everyone freaks out and starts shouting all at once.

"What the fuck is Moreaux doing here?”

"Isn't that the gods-damned target just walked into our suite?"

  "Who invited this bitch?"

Until Citrine tosses Meadow's lighter back to her.

In the stunned silence, Sola says, “everyone meet Citrine Reverie, my sister”

Violet cracks up.

That's great.

From the stunned silence, cut to a flashback of Citrine's side of this whole thing. There's a shot of Citrine interviewing for a job at the bank, Citrine getting promoted to head of security on the back of several improvements she made to the security systems, Citrine using her access to the transactions to prove the FDC paid various criminals, Citrine pulling pictures of FDC execs meeting with organized crime leadership from security cameras, printing them out, and putting them in a folder.

Ooh, the long con! But why did she then store this folder in a safe deposit box in a vault she'd have to break into, or was that just for fun?

Citrine confronts the head of the FDC, who secretly brought armed guards to the meeting and threatens to shoot her if she doesn't turn over the documents.

She's not remotely pleased about this, but does so.

We next see the head of the FDC depositing the documents, both folder and storage drive, in the safe deposit box.

Oho! Okay, that makes sense.

Finally, we see a shot of Citrine getting back in touch with her sister, Sola, and bitching about the whole situation at a bar. Sola considers for a moment, then says, "I have an idea."

Cut back to present.

Citrine sits down heavily on a couch, grabs a beer, opens it, and takes a big drink of it.

"Holy shit," Virica says.

Nice.

Two weeks later, we see the head of the FDC watching the news in his office. A special report comes on, discussing shocking revelations that the FDC has been working closely with organized crime and using violent thugs to break strikes, on top of cutting safety measures at all their mines.

He stares at the display in shock.

"What!? How!?"

The shot zooms out on the FDC head's increasing panic, until it fades through a screen to reveal the team of thieves watching him via a hidden camera. Citrine has an extremely smug and self-satisfied expression on her face.

And the credits roll.

"I hope whoever made this movie made bank off it and donated most of the proceeds."

Neo nods and grins in clear agreement.

"That was fun."

She leans down and kisses Neo sweetly, then over to kiss Violet.

Maya starts to look it up on her scroll.

"I think I recognized the name of one of the consultants in the credits. I'm willing to bet they did."

"Found it. All the actors volunteered for pay cuts for the film, and all proceeds beyond what was necessary to pay those reduced salaries along with the crew were donated to the Mine Workers of Mantle fund — a total of thirty-seven million lien."

She kisses back, then smiles and ducks her head. "That was really nice. The twist was solid and it wasn't afraid to make a point. You girls have good taste in movies."

Neo beams at Violet.

"Glad to hear it, beautiful."
