why are you my clarity
three souls and a whole lot more to sort out

They hold her for observation for a week afterwards to check if she's stable. Her psychosis seems to have simply vanished, as if it were never there.

Sable Orchid comes to visit her occasionally, and helps the three of them pick names for themselves. There's December, of course, as she always was; and then there's the colder, analytical one - Lillian - and the one who keeps wanting to flirt - Vivian, at first, but Sable says that's not a color name, so eventually they settle on Violet. They work out a kind of peace between each other, a détente.

Despite all the poking and prodding of everyone involved, the exact nature of the strange event - the "star" - that happened during the procedure remains a mystery. What isn't a mystery is the looks that Sable keeps giving the three of them, the way her gaze lingers...

Violet wants so much to reach out and touch her, to kiss her, to have someone to replace the hole left by Jason - but Lillian and December hold her back. It's not healthy to run from one relationship into another. She's seen the chaos that can cause.

Still, it's nice to have someone that actually cares. She doesn't know if it's love, but... Sable keeps coming back, and her help with naming has been essential, and the way she holds her hand sometimes when she's making a point makes their collective heart race. It's not easy to stay smart and safe, but she tries. The hospital setting helps.

Combat school is... Lillian thinks it's reckless. Violet wants it so badly. And that leaves December to cast a deciding vote of "It'll probably be better than the fosters."

Soon it's the last day of observation. Despite themselves, they're kind of looking forward to seeing Sable again.
