Noticing Brad's lack of movement, she motions for him to attack.

He looks at her disbelievingly, then shakes his head.

She rolls her eyes and again motions for him to attack.

Seeing no movement, she starts walking towards it herself.

Because as if this wasn't a bad enough idea yet...

The Shadow turns towards her, as usual, but it stretches it's arms towards her without moving. It jiggles ominously.

Aaand that's kinda terrifying can Brad please do something already.

She looks back at him. And might be preparing to bolt.

He looks at her like she's absolutely mental but starts running towards the Shadow. With another knife. Because knives are things that he quite naturally makes appear spontaneously. Apparently.

When the approximation of your soul acts like this thing is dangerous and refuses to openly engage it, Thea probably shoulda listened. A little late now.

Agi.

The Shadow's hands burst into flames, and it promptly throws the fireball straight toward Thea. It stands its ground regardless if Brad would divert or continue his charge.

Yyyeah-no. He changes course to get in the way of the fireball. That does nnnot look like it should touch a poor, squishy human.

Isn't the hardest to intercept. Still hurts a lot. Thea feels the burning pain too. Still likely a better outcome than Thea taking it.

The Shadow quivers in place, waiting for the burst of fire to dissipate, actually seeming like it might have some sort of intelligence...

So. The 'preparing' to bolt managed to migrate to 'actually bolting', then to 'temporarily debilitating pain', and now to 'I should really get out of here even if I'm in pain'.

She is trying not to scream. Or make any noise at all, really. She doesn't want more Shadows.

Brad manages to continue despite the flames and runs towards Mr Blob v2.0 again.

Weapon? Ooh, he has a lovely knife. Method of attack? How about slice and dice.

Wibble wobble. Its hand rears back and swipes at him. It isn't much faster than the 1.0 version, but let's try not to get hit again, you know?

He attempts to dodge around the hand, and probably succeeds, unless it suddenly speeds up.

Right, so. Agi. ... Fire?

Maybe instead of charging with a knife, he should charge with... an icicle? That's a thing he can do. He summons a sharp and pointy icicle in place of the knife.

Stab.

The shadow reels HARD from being stabbed with an icicle. Another stab and it ceases to be.

Cue the victory fanfare.

The icicle disappears in a puff of smoke once it's outlived its utility.

Brad looks around for coins.

Thea looks back, sees that it's been handled, and slows down. Then tentatively walks back.

She's kinda tired. Oops.

More coins. Two nickels six pennies. Moving up in the world!

Brad hands the coins over to Thea. The dime from earlier is also included.

Then he folds his arms, taps his foot, and continues to look very unamused.

She takes the coins, and then continues trying to ignore the pain. The slight pain in her arm, and the ffffudging burning sensation. She either doesn't notice the look or decides to ignore it, and instead starts to walk back in the direction of her house.

Brad does follow, but he's still giving her the look.

Walking, coffins, moonlight, the ominous sound of Cynthia humming getting louder the closer they get home, blood patches...

...The dawning realization Cynthia may be sitting outside of Thea's house right now...

Of course she might be.

Oh well. Thea got bored and decided not to text Cynthia. Or something. Or she can just, y'know, tell the truth that she wanted to go walk around with Brad alone. Who knows.

Walk walk walk.

Yep. Cynthia is leaning against the side of Thea's house. One hand holding a notebook (the one from Friday at lunch) and the other the plastic sword (being twirled). She seems happy enough.

Libby isn't out and around. Cynthia isn't going to make the first move here (she can tell Thea is nearby but is trying to be nice).

Well, in that case, Thea will just walk up to the house and say, "Hi there!"

Ugh, she hates feeling tired.

Brad walks up behind Thea, slightly to the right of her, and stands there with a neutral expression on his face.
