"See ya," she says, then walks inside. Luckily, her dad seems to have already gone to bed, so there won't be any weird confusion over the fact she's teleported to bed. She brushes her teeth, gets changed, and then flops. Zzz.

At least the faucets work, even if the water is a little tinged red.

Sleeping or not, the Midnight Hour passes. Everything turns back to normal, and nobody has to look at the Justin Bieber and Kanye West boy band poster anymore.

Time marches on, awake or not.

Thea's too asleep to notice or care. The red water wasn't particularly noticeable in the darkness, what with the lack of electricity and therefore lighting.

Zzz.

Not much happens the next day; she does some homework and tries poking at the possibly-a-thing in her head that links to Brad at least coincidentally. She thinks it's a thing, what with the fact that prodding it last night resulted in a Brad, but she's not totally sure. It still doesn't seem like it has any buttons, or... anything.

Will Cynthia text her in the day? Or any time before midnight?

Any attempt at calling out Brad results in only a headache. It doesn't seem to work during the day.

Speaking of calling out, Cynthia does not contact her. She understands 'I'm busy' and has no real reason to bother Thea during the day.

Well, okay then.

... It nears midnight, she's already had dinner, and guess what! She's actually decided to go out after all. Only she's not going to tell Cynthia except perhaps by screaming if she gets in over her head.

What a good idea.

In the time it takes to blink, the world changes. The moon takes on a sickly yellow hue, while the clouds turn a poison green. Nearby people are replaced with looming jet-black coffins. Grass turns to burnt strands, puddles to splashes of blood, electronics to unworking pieces of plastic.

Good ideas or not, it arrives on time.

Well, she only has to survive for an hour, and she's also got Brad, and she can scream if it gets too bad. Plus, it's not a full moon, and the Shadows she encountered last night were just the small blobs, so she should be fine.

Really though, why is she doing this? She's not even totally sure, but she sorta just wants to spend time with Brad without Cynthia. It's a bit of her, after all. Apparently.

She goes looking for a blob, and sees if there's any more information coming from the probably-a-thing in her head. Here, blobby blobby. Thea's not gonna hurt you!

Her cry of "Give me info!" wildly into her head doesn't seem to be working.

At least her ears do. Sameish location, another blob. Gaze at its patheticness.

Well, that's fine. She wasn't really expecting much of a response, though she was hoping for one.

She sees the blob, stops, and pokes at the thing in her head with the intent for Brad to appear. This worked the last two times, so it should work now, right?

Right! Brad appears next to her in a weird transparent glow, which disappears shortly thereafter.

He gives her a look. It's a look that says: 'Really? Are you suuuure this was a good idea? Hint: it wasn't'.

Thea looks at him, sees the look, squints a bit, and then says, "What? You're me, don't judge."

He sighs and stalks off in the direction of the blob. Stab.

Thea follows a bit closer, watching him.

It reacts the normal way. Too close, it'll lunge into an attempt at it's own survival. Though utterly futile, its death already a forgone conclusion, it does manage to land a hit onto Brad's arm.

The pain flares up in Thea in response. Oh, didn't Cynthia deal with that problem last time? Fun.

Oh, eugh. She'd forgotten about that. Stupid pain.

... Does it disappear after a minute? Or does it stick around?

Brad folds his arms and taps his foot.

Sigh. The things he has to put up with.

Time passes. It gets a bit better. It will stick around for awhile...

At least it was a dime that dropped this time! Big money.

... Brad notices the shininess after a minute and picks it up. He should really pay more careful attention to this sort of thing.

Thea notices that the pain gets only slightly better and makes a noise of frustration.

Deciding to focus on something else, she asks Brad, "So. Do you have any other wisdom about me left to impart?"

He shrugs. "We've already done this, haven't we?"

She gives him a look, thinks for a second, then starts to walk around, looking for another blob.

Here, blobby blobby.

Brad follows, keeping watch for any unforeseen danger.

A little bit of more walking later... Blob.

Oddly, it has a red mask instead of a blue one. Still a generic blob.

Huh, weird.

Thea moves nearer to it, but stops far enough away that it probably won't move to attack her.
