I'm talking about his legs, geddit?

His screams are very short-lived. Woo-young teleports the three of them to the medical barge as soon as he's sure they're not about to shoot through the floor or anything, so now Tae-hwan is biting his lips and trying to not make any sounds.

This is... not the worst he's been hurt, but it's way up there. He's wearing long trousers but they're rapidly getting soaked through with blood and the protruberances leave little to the imagination regarding where his shin bones are, especially compared to where they should be instead.

At least when he dropped Flywheel she didn't get hurt.

Yeah. No injury here.

Flywheel is pretty backlashed, but even when she's not here for herself she can be worried about someone else.

(She doesn't say anything, though, or stand up from the floor where she arrived. Nobody asked her to.)

Ji-woo spots the flash of blue in the corner of her eye; there are designated locations for incoming teleports of injured, and this is notable for not being one of them.

She then registers the green hair, and the blood, and makes the obvious deduction. Emergency teleport by Woo-young; not part of the system.

"Piggyback time," she informs April, scooping her into position as glorified backlash backpack. With barely a pause to make sure the teenager is secure, she's booking it to Tae-hwan's side.

"Wha—?"

She sees the mess they're dashing towards, and cuts off her bewildered squawk into a quick "—yep okay!", clinging tight to Ji-woo's back in as secure a grip as she can muster.

Flywheel sees Baek Ji-woo (!!) heading towards Tae-hwan and scoots herself out of the way, ending up against the nearby wall.  (She's not supposed to get in people's way when they're doing something important.)

...she doesn't recognize the very young esper Baek Ji-woo is currently using as a backpack. (Local professional guide, maybe?)

(April is such an excellent backlash backpack.)

Ji-woo is going for skin contact with Tae-hwan before anything else, and gets it with his arm - there, pain, cut right off. Someone like Epione (or the now deceased Willowbark) would be better for this, but Ji-woo's medical strength is her diagnostics and flexibility when it comes to crises. Such that: yeah she can just tell those nerves to shut the fuck up for a while.

She does not ask what happened. Instead, what she says is: "Professional medical opinion is oral guiding." to prevent him from wiggling, because she knows his backlash, "Woo-young, get repositioned - that way - to give us full access to legs." Essentially, directing him to making a line with Tae-hwan, faces together, feet apart.

While saying this, she starts meddling in Tae-hwan's internals - the most immediate problem is shock and blood loss; she gets to telling the bits of him that are bleeding profusely to knock that shit off.

"Yes, ma'am," he says, and gets to it.

Between the sudden relief from the lack of pain, the guiding, and the low blood pressure, Tae-hwan's unfortunate immediate response is to have a vasovagal episode. Which he's got enough experience with to say, "Vasovagal—water—"

He can get water assuming Ji-woo isn't about to tell him that Tae-hwan shouldn't get water for some reason...?

"Water is fine - NEED AN IV OVER HERE," she announces, loudly, to various medical minions that are in fact getting everything set up to handle this. Then it's back to telling each individual broken blood vessel to chill the fuck out and stop leaking everywhere.

She is not touching any bones with her hands or the like until a full medical team is present and there is an IV in this man, and probably also a blood transfusion available.

Water is vworped.

He drinks it gratefully and then tries to breathe slowly and focus on the guiding makeouts so that he doesn't throw up, eyes closed. He can't help but fidget a bit but it's his hands, mostly, and running his hands along Woo-young's skin helps with the backlash so, two birds one stone.

His poor Tae-hwan...

Poor both of them!! (it sure would have been really nice if someone with a kinetic power that can enhance her reflexes had bothered to try and catch them instead of just assuming that Tae-hwan had it covered, huh,)

Flywheel hugs her knees and watches with concern.

Ji-woo obligingly scootches in her arm touching so that Tae-hwan can more easily touch his partner.

IV: goes in. Pants: come off (via scissors). Ji-woo starts rapidly relaying exactly how both! Of his sets of shinbones! have been snapped! to the medical minions that are minioning -

"- Woo-young, are you capable of standing, thumbs up if yes or down if no." She needs to know for transportation reasons - obviously both need to stay together as a unit. If Woo-young can stand, they can put him on a gurney and move him into surgery, if he cannot, then they have to figure out something weird.

Thumbs up. "I'm not very backlashed, can't move my feet but I'm good at walking without being able to move my feet, knees are still fine."

"Then we're cleared for the gurney." While everyone else preps for that: "Our current plan is to move you directly into surgery with minimal medication, with me as your magic anesthesiologist. Meaning you will be mostly conscious for a surgery that will not hurt. This will suck more but fix you faster for regen circle reasons. Are you okay with that?"

This is heavier on her than she'd normally go, backlash wise, but she has her very excellent backpack, so she is in fact willing to pay up.

"Aye aye, cap'n," he says, still sounding a bit woozy.

Ji-woo nods, and relays this. Tae-hwan is moved onto a gurney, and then it is prep for surgery time, whee! Masks for everyone that's not supposed to be medically making out with someone. Tae-hwan gets stabbed a little (these also do not hurt) in both legs for the appropriate nerve blockers that'll keep him from moving anything that should be still for putting his legs back together.

"You going to be okay getting through a surgery?" Ji-woo asks her koala, who has not yet been rated for squeamishness.

"I'm cool, do what you gotta do." Healer lady is so cool.

"You got it. Tug my ear twice if you're about to throw up or something."

And with that, Tae-hwan, Woo-young, and Ji-woo head off to SURGERY.

(This poor surgeon is dealing with such esper insanity.)

She snickers a little.

"Do not like surgery," he mumbles into a break from the kissing.

"Then don't fuck up next time, dingus."

"Eat my ass."

"Not giving that the response it deserves because we're in public."
