"Does it matter at all?"

"Well, in the sense that there has to be an actual answer, but no, not especially. It's just that if for some arbitrary reason you did have an opinion, I would want to follow it."

"I do not care. Witch mall time."

"Witch mall time! Some things that cost one point apiece--swapping out your human witch charge method with another species's. A minor bag of tricks with strong utility functions that can be used to clean or unclean things, adjust the temperatures of comestibles within the human-comfortable range and alter their scent and flavor if desired, create temporary solid objects, and project flat illusions on a surface."

For two points you can have any of: a complete immunity to toxins, plus some additional poison-related powers. Not needing to sleep. An ability to see auras which contain legitimately useful information that is meaningfully distinct from what the Violet Lenses show. The ability to create magical flames that stay where you put them until dismissed, with a temperature ranging from twenty below to five hundred Celsius. Something that makes Divinations more detailed and helpful, although it requires at least a rank four in the discipline to take. Mime powers."

"I can do the charge thing without having to actually have any of them as an option to be? Interesting. How good's the scent and flavor thing, I find I currently care a lot about that... immunity to toxins is amazing, will it cover mal goo?... the fire one sounds adorable... I am considering loading up on divination anyway, how much better is it if I have the boost thing... who the fuck designed this and decided to incorporate mime powers."

"The scent and flavor thing is very comprehensive but does not affect texture. It will affect mal goo that is toxic; if there's any mal goo that's corrosive as well it won't stop it from burning you. The divination one is very useful; it will get you from a vague bad feeling to 'I should specifically do X and/or not Y,' for example, or give you more detailed information on a foresight spell. I have no idea who is responsible for the mime thing."

"What are the other poison related powers?"

"You can boss venomous animals around, you have a green thumb for toxic plants, and you get minor teekay for poisonous materials in general."

"Huh, not bad. What are the best charge options, sleep for mana loses its luster if I can stop needing it."

"Well, best is subjective, but out of ones with the highest charge rate, and no weird downsides or logistical complications, I think probably the Oread or Mimi ones are the best. Proximity to loved ones or, uh, I'm trying to think of a less weird description than 'repetitive touching' for Mimis but if the shoe fits."

"I don't really want to live with my parents forever and I'm not... touchy?"

"Okay, fair enough. I'm extremely touchy and have a lot of loved ones, this kind of thing is why best is extremely subjective. Proximity to strong emotion?"

"I'm maybe too introverted for these."

"Hmm. I'm sure you wouldn't enjoy drinking blood or being set on fire...introversion somewhat rules out causing people to forget to breathe or want things...how do you feel about resisting social pressure?"

"Seems like it involves experiencing social pressure? Sleep isn't that bad really especially if I can also build mana the wizard way, it would just be nice to have the extra eight hours... oh, wasn't there one about being around expensive stuff? If that's mundie expensive stuff, wizards usually have stupid amounts of mundie money, I could arrange that for passive charge."

"That and sleep are both medium-level charge rates. For medium there's also being around art, destroying stuff it took effort to make--seems like it'd go well with wizard charge, honestly--and meditation, which is twice as fast as sleep."

"Can you ballpark all this in lilims or something? - also can I just buy this one later, I might have a girlfriend this time next week who would do the weird ultrafast grooming one no problem, it's just kind of everything happening at once."

"Oh, yeah, you can definitely do this later."

"Cool. Tabling that. Bag of tricks, toxins, flames, divination boost and the ranks to match. How many of my points does that eat?"

"All those wild magics and four ranks of Divinations takes up twelve points total."

"Alrighty. What else is good in this here mall?"

"Levitation lets you fly, Memorize lets you perfectly learn--including muscle memory--any physical maneuver you see; those each cost three points. If you take Levitation, then for one point Broom Beast will increase your flight speed to one hundred and twenty-five feet per second, even though you don't have Witchery; further points in Broom Beast further increase speed and agility...Energize seems like it would have been fantastic inside the Scholomance but infinite free electricity seems less valuable when you have access to power outlets."

"- would Memorize let me balance without magic shoes? Also how good is levitation compared to wizard flight in terms of mana cost and stuff?"

"Levitation costs negligible mana to use. It...seems like it would, but I don't know why you need magic shoes to balance?"

"I don't know! I'm just real glad that the magic shoes work!"
