"What is Outsider influence and why should one be cleansed of it?"

"I don't know that much about Outsider stuff because it isn't safe, it's infohazardously contagious and people who are seriously contaminated go bad. Like, really, really, killing-people-is-a-really-great-idea bad."

"...Yikes."

"So she's both her own goddess and her own high priestess or whatever?"

"Avatars aren't quite the same thing as priests but that might be the best way to put it without going into an extended digression."

"I wanna meet my doppelganger!"

"Contacting her isn't gonna be as trivial as getting ahold of a professor at our college but I bet we can make it happen. We were considering contacting the Celestial Codex anyway about the honeypot trap."

"The honeypot trap?"

"They don't generate mana the way we do, and some of the ways they do generate mana are fast. We think we can maybe get Orion Lake involved, and a bunch of witches, and hook everyone up to a handful of big sinks with power-sharers and draw in a supermajority of mals and obliterate them."

"--I find it deeply implausible that a goddess version of me wouldn't be interested in this project."

"What's hard about contacting her?"

"Well, for one, she doesn't have a publicly available e-mail address like our professors do," she ticks off her fingers. "Secondly, the Celestial Code was kind of a big deal? If everyone who wanted to get their hands on some of her time could, she'd do nothing else. You can't just Send her--like, can't, not just it'd be rude, you can prevent random people from messaging you. Third, I don't, like, know anything about where she physically is, most of the time. My best bet is to talk to the Watchers and hope that the Watchers can get in touch with her."

"Huh. Well, I hope we manage it, divine assistance wouldn't hurt."

"If that doesn't work we can try having this world's Lucy come over and pray to her, praying sometimes works to get a god's attention. --Actually maybe we should try that first, it's a pretty cheap test."

"You said the god version was named Lucasta?"

"Yep. Lucasta, goddess of prosperity and mortal agency."

"Good things to be a god of, congrats, Lucy."

"Thanks! I feel pretty great about it, those are great things to be a goddess of."

"My goddess does sex, mostly. Objectively not as impressive a portfolio but she's the one who made me an offer when I Awakened."

"It's more niche, but it's not, like, bad."

"What is the - divine job fair situation or whatever, should wizards be trying to get in on this -"

"I don't know of any way to become a god that doesn't involve Outsider influence. Most gods start out that way, I think...there must be other ways to ascend to godhood, Lucasta isn't the only god that started out as a mortal I'm pretty sure, but--it's not something that's generally known how. There's only the one Masquerade but there's lots of secrets."

"No, I mean, that would be cool too but I wanted to know how your deal with your goddess works out for you."

"Oh! When I was Awakened, I had the ability to pick whether I would be a Sorceress, an Academic, and a Warlock, and as a Warlock, I had a small selection of potential patrons to choose from. Kedesh-Nanaya was the one I clicked with best. She accepts 'worship' in the form of people having orgasms while thinking about her, and wants her warlocks to facilitate this. Which can mean sex work, but can also just mean writing or drawing sexy stories or pictures about her and posting them online." Shrug. "I like sex, and 'dominatrix' is a respectable career for an Erinye."
