"It's not Mars.  Developing a spell to kill objects in ways other than them being attached to dying people would have a pretty big impact on a lot of ghosts' happiness.  But my parents have heard of other ghosts seeing stuff there sometimes.  Normal physical Earth objects.  The worlds are like, spheresish stuff in outer space, sometimes you can see other ones of them from the one you're stuck on, and there are ones that are all water on the surface, and ones that are water and sand such that the whole thing is beaches, and cave systems, and one that's just like a giant spiky urchin shape made out of crystal or something.  And there are a lot of, maybe normal space rocks around them.  Again, my parents have said; I've never been, I can't leave here."

"Oh so they're like alternate dimensions that... look like regular places? Or, like, you know.

"I don't know that at all.  They could have been."

"No.  We don't really feel pain, uh, usually.  He tends to keep it in because he doesn't like the surprise of it coming back.  And it's not like he can hit it on anything."

"Wow. That sounds kind of unpleasant. Maybe we should invent a spell to fix that."

"That would be great.  But killing objects would still be better—if people could play their own music, read their own books...  It would be a big increase in, uh.  Quality of Afterlife."

"Now, uh... spells, I guess?"
