Yvette is a very opinionated sim

Nnnnno, actually! It looks like there's an elderly Sim lying on the floor, looking faint and pale.

Um.

She doesn't have any way to help, does she.

Probably she's about to watch someone die become a ghost. She. Doesn't know how to feel about this.

Yeah very plausibly!

And then there's a noise like piano keys being pressed in a somber tone, a puff of black smoke in a corner over there, and someone in a body-covering cloak and hood that doesn't let her see their face appears carrying a scythe taller than they are. Their robes look new and pristine, and there are straight lines along the edges and decorations that glow faintly blue-green.

Also, this is the hottest person Yvette has ever seen in her life.

How can a person in a fully body concealing robe (admittedly a very nice one) be hot. Why is her libido like this. She's sitting next to a sad vampire boy, known to be catnip to women everywhere, and embodiment of death itself is what she finds hot! WHY!!!

This is an incredibly inappropriate reaction to have to someone dying!!!!!

She shoves her incredibly inappropriate feelings into a little box, says a polite goodbye to Caleb, then gets up to see if she can maybe... talk the embodiment of death himself out of doing some reaping or something?

"Um, hello, excuse me?" she ventures, pretending all of her nerves are entirely related to the death happening and not anything related to finding this mysterious person in a robe inexplicably hot.

The person had begun to hover menacingly towards the elder, black smoke billowing out from under their robe, but they stop and look at her.

"Y̵̧͊e̵͓̚s̶̬͑?̶͇̈́" they say—except they don't, actually. What happens instead is that they emit some sounds that could maybe be a word, but it's not a word she's familiar with, and also it doesn't sound like it's a Sim's voice saying it, as opposed to a combination of percussive instruments being played from the bottom of a crypt. She understands them anyway.

WHY IS SHE INTO THAT TOO this is NOT FAIR.

"Can I request a life extension for the sim in question?"

"A̴͔̎r̸̺̾ẹ̸̍ ̵͙̑y̸̮͝ỏ̵̱ǘ̸̺ ̶̦̓f̶̧̊â̸̼m̶̗̑i̵͎͌l̴̪̊y̴̹͛?̴͎͑" they ask, and despite the impossibility of discerning tone of voice they manage to sound like they already know the answer to that question.

"Uh, no," she says, awkwardly.

"W̵h̵a̷t̸'̷s̴ ̵y̵o̸u̵r̵ ̸r̶e̴l̴a̸t̸i̵o̴n̵s̸h̵i̷p̵ ̶w̵i̷t̸h̵ ̶t̴h̴e̴ ̶d̸e̴c̶e̵a̴s̴e̷d̵?̷"

"Uh." Was she supposed to have one??? "None, I don't actually even know -" brief pause to check the gender of the deceased, yep okay that looks like a time for some he/his pronouns, "- his name. Is that a problem?"

"W̸h̵a̸t̴'̶s̷ ̸y̸o̴u̵r̴ ̸i̵n̴t̴e̵r̴e̷s̴t̵ ̵i̸n̷ ̵t̵h̶e̶ ̸c̴o̴n̶t̵i̵n̸u̵e̴d̷ ̷l̷i̸f̷e̵ ̶o̵f̷ ̸t̶h̵e̶ ̶d̶e̴c̷e̴a̷s̷e̷d̸?̷"

"Well, he might prefer to not be a ghost?"

They grab a tablet from their coat pocket—a computer kind of tablet, that is—then open some app and write something down with a stylus. "Ỳ̸͎ȯ̷̧ŭ̵̱r̸̺̀ ̷̖͑o̶̙̎b̵͎̓j̶̄͜e̴̬͝c̷̘̽t̵͔̽i̸̦͠o̴̭͒n̸̦̓ ̴̹̈́ȟ̵̹a̵͓̕s̴̟͒ ̵̠̈b̵̗̈́e̸̮̓e̶̲̕n̶̺̈́ ̷͉̽r̶̙̆ẽ̷̢ǵ̴͜ï̶͔s̶̲̑t̸͚̃e̸̜̐ȑ̸̜e̷̯̊d̵̪͋," they say, and then resume floating over to the dead guy.

"... Okay. Thanks?"

Oh Reaper, can she buy this man's life with - THAT IS SO INCREDIBLY INAPPROPRIATE and also more importantly unlikely to work. Probably. It is probably very unlikely to work. Maybe she should offer just in case ABSOLUTELY NOT.

They stop by the body and start writing some more stuff into the tablet, seemingly indifferent to Yvette's inner turmoil.

Whine.

She'll hang around and see if maybe this person will not become a ghost? And try to keep her inner turmoil entirely to herself, by not, for example, checking out the reaper's ass. Which she is not at all tempted to do and is offended that you would imply such.

The reaper's ass is completely covered by their robes and cannot be distinguished from their legs or back.

After a few seconds of bureaucracy they put the tablet away, float a bit higher, then swing their scythe into the air above the body. When they do that, a sphere of light emerges from the body and floats into their hand, at the same time as the body itself goes and turns into a golden urn on the floor.

It's still kind of possible to guess at some ass related qualities, the robe is concealing but the person under it is clearly very fit - the specifics of the reaper's ass are none of her business.

That looks like a no for avoiding, or at least putting off, ghost-hood. Which is a pity, but, well. Being a ghost really isn't bad, and she tried. Actually, she should probably take advantage of this opportunity to ask death related questions.

"Do you have a minute for some questions once you're, um, done?" she requests, polite as can be.

They land (well, they're still hovering, but they at least get closer to the floor) and turn to look at her again. "Y̶͉̊e̵̡͌s̵̖̎?̵͈̾"

Oh gosh okay she was expecting to be turned down but, sure, here she goes.

"Okay, so - I have heard that a sim can offer up a death flower to avoid death. Can these maybe be paid in advance, and a sort of - prepaid credit system set up?"

"Oh, I don't want to make an arrangement now, just check if it's possible. Should I go to the main office for this sort of thing instead?"

"Y̴͍̓e̷͈͋s̷̢̀.̵̮̓"

"Okay. Sorry to bother you about it, then. Is there a substance you know of that can return a ghost to life, and is there any paperwork involved in such a change?"

Because it's very clear this is a very bureaucratic system.
