And she sets Bella up with scaly friends, and sees her off.

She's able to get the snakes dropped off and her cousin picked up with no interference. She takes her cousin to a nicer restaurant than he can afford on his allowance, promises to load him up with sweets and very cleverly disguised prank items in addition to his main birthday present - she's maybe not cut out to be a parent, but she loves being the rich cousin spoiling the kids. She made his birthday present herself, and lets him open it at the start of the meal. It's an expandable bag, but not the sort of sack or hand purse people usually use - it has a strap so it can be securely attached under his robes, and she walks him through some basic cloth Transfiguration to make a pocket he can access it through. Rather than one large compartment, it has a good number of smaller ones, all of them lined so they're resistant to everything short of Fiendfyre. There's stasis charms on them, though she warns him not to test them too much - he probably shouldn't hide anything that'll rot nastily in them and leave it there for a month. The compartments can be toggled between by turning the button on the flap, which currently only she or Sirius can operate - though she shows him how to add or remove other people. There's also a 'panic' mode which'll switch it to a normal pack, hiding the rest of the compartments' certainly licit contents. Only Sirius can get it out of 'panic' mode after. The panic mode's activated by pressing down on the toggle button, by pressing down on a specific point on the strap, or by casting a specific spell at it (though he'll need to practice to get it down wandlessly and wordlessly).

(Making this has been rather good practice for developing gear for their spies and assassins. Not that Bellatrix shares that.)

Sirius is, to say the least, delighted by his present. It's enough apparently to flip her from 'cool cousin, but warily so' to 'confidante.' He talks her ear off about his adventures with his friends - the entire set of the Gryffindor boys in his year, the Marauders. The others are James Potter, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew. James is super cool. He knows so much magic, and he's a great flyer. Remus is also amazing, he's the smartest, and Sirius is pretty sure he's read every single book in Hogwarts' library. (In a whisper, Sirius confides that Remus is a werewolf. He'd been really reluctant to apply for the new scholarship, but it's been helping him a lot - he can actually get Wolfsbane potion now, though Sirius and James and Pettigrew are super close on getting Animagus forms. Moony, Remus's wolf self, doesn't like humans even when dosed up, so they think humanish animals should be fine.)

Bellatrix reassures Sirius that that's excellent news, offers some tips on the Animagus transformation, shares that she's worked with a werewolf or two in her time. Solid folk. It's good Remus has such great friends.

Sirius brightens up, nodding - Remus had an idea for making a magical map of Hogwarts, too, though they gotta work on a lot still, and they'll need to figure out how to anchor it to the wards...

Bellatrix chatters with him about that for a bit, sharing ideas, laughing over pranks he could pull - and then Sirius mentions that his best friend has this great invisibility cloak. It's, like, super old, it belonged to James' grandfather, but it's not ratty or smelly at all, and Dumbledore caught them under it the one time but no one else seems to be able to tell it's there, it doesn't even leave that weird shimmer in the air like that possibly cursed cloak that used to be in his house...

She's... Careful, as best she can, not to show too much interest. But she definitely asks more questions than she might've two years ago, trying to solicit what the cloak looks like, how it acts in odd edge cases... She doesn't think Sirius notices anything off. He's certainly willing enough to chat. And she excuses some of her interest by teaching Sirius the basics of privacy charms - Disillusionment, sure, but especially spells to muffle noises he's making, since that's something not covered by invisibility.

She walks her very happy cousin back to Hogwarts with an enchanted pack full of candy and trick items, wishes him well, exchanges a few words with Professor Flitwick (who always favored her), then heads back to her Lady.

"Guess what lead I just got," she purrs.

"Fay's preferred brand of underclothes?"

She giggles. "No, but now that you mention it... Maybe next mission."

"But my lead today involves the possessions of a certain noble pureblood family, who can trace their descent back quite a bit... And have at least one so very interesting item passed down the family line..."

"Goodness." She rests her chin on interlaced fingers and stares intently at Bellatrix. "Tell me more."

"Passed down when an old man recognized a certain kindred spirit in his grandson, one of mischief and disregard for the rules... A family heirloom, unfaded despite its surely great age. An essential tool for any young student wishing to pass unseen after curfew."

"The Cloak of Invisibility."

"Or at least something worth pursuing."

"Indeed. Well done, Bella."

Wiggle kiss!

"I live to serve you, my Lady," she says, grinning.

"It's currently in Hogwarts, but - I think the best thing will just be to wait until Yule break. Sirius and James will probably go home for the holidays, and I can visit the family then and ideally spirit the Cloak away."

"I agree. Hopefully the boy brings it home for the winter break."

"If not, I'll see if Hogwarts' wards keep out curious kitties."

"That's my girl." Kiss.

She giggles, kissing back.

(The wait for Yule break's going to be rather tantalizing...)

They'll have to find ways to distract themselves.

An exceptional hardship.

Her favored pastime involves hurting Bella in creative new ways. So, a hardship for Bellatrix, perhaps.

Mmm, well, the intellectual simulation from all this creativity is quite good for her, overall.

She does love her Bella. Everything about her.

That's very convenient, because Bella loves everything about her Lady.

What a well-matched pair they are. If she hadn't burnt herself out of fate's weave, she'd say it was destiny.

Bellatrix prefers breaking such things. 'Destiny' implies too much in the way of external factors - they're attracted to each other because of what they are, not because of what someone wove. Like... Those muggle theories, electromagnetism or gravity.

Well put.

Fond kiss.

For Yule - does her Lady want to accompany Bella to the Potters' house?

That might be taken as a little hostile, given the tenor of her other public appearances.
