"...and yet, now that I have been presented with this, I cannot think of a better English word for either of those categories that still fits the rhyme scheme and the tactical constraints of wanting your words to be short.  And 'Gadgeteer' only fits the former by extreme technicality."

She nods. «Hard to fix. Could throw out rhyme, memorize the hard way. Could keep messing with it.» She shrugs, smiling, and kisses Momo's cheek.

Momo blushes softly at the kiss.

"That we could."  Though it's clear that she wasn't quite paying the conversation her full attention when she replied.

"...Blaster seems like it's a very direct damage sort of threat rating; how do you rate Aizawa-sensei?  Well.  You rate him Trump.  Or whatever rating you make for a power nullifier.  But he's a single-target ranged nullifier, which ought to matter, and yet doesn't seem to have a direct encoding in the categories...  Would that be the numerical part of the analysis, then?  I suppose it must be."

"...Oh, goodness, I just realized; I should also teach you all tactical sign.  If you don't already know.  And we should probably go over the subject even if you do, to catch any discrepancies beforehand."

She grins, both at the blush and the prospect of learning tactical sign. «Sounds fun.»

"It probably will be."

«I would rate Aizawa Trump/Blaster, maybe four or six?»

"...I simultaneously agree with you that that's probably what it would be, and dislike that that's the way it is.  Aizawa can't hurt anybody by eyeing at them unless they're actively in the middle of something that, when interrupted by having a Quirk nullified, would cause harm, so why is he a Blaster?  He doesn't actually Blast.

"I suppose 'ranged Trump' is what you might actually want to say."

She nods. «Need to separate range and threat type, if we want better accuracy. Meant as a shorthand, gesture at vague type of response. Definitely separate types of Master, though. "Minions" is a different thing than "you could become minions."»

"Very much so.  But what do we call 'has minions'?"

«Tamer?» she suggests with a shrug.

"...That could work, but - if I say that it feels, funnily enough, 'too tame' for, say, that world's insect-controller, do you get what I mean?  Being an actual tamer is more of a Thinker sort of thing.  I think."

She nods and taps her lips a bit.

«Master vs Taker? Maybe?»

"That doesn't actually make sense.  And even if...

"We can't really risk standardizing the other way around, in case we ever run into that setting, but 'the other way around' is exactly the way I would think to use that pair, for various reasons.  ...Commander, perhaps?  It's too long, unfortunately but...  It might be the right angle for 'controls an enemy force and does not attempt to subsume yours'."

«Fits well, except for breaking the rhyme.»

"I mean, any addition to the list would require us to restructure the rhyme anyway.

"...We could call Tinkers Makers - that's sufficiently phonologically distinct.  Though, honestly, 'Tinker' really suits the archetype, doesn't it?  'Maker' is a lot more reliable-sounding than Mei's...  Process."

Neo laughs voicelessly and nods. «Tinkers in Worm are even worse.»

"Oh no.  And now I have to ask: How do you get worse than Mei?"

«One Tinker's power is trying to kill him because it doesn't like his caution.»

"...That seems incredibly counterproductive."

Neo grins and nods, snickering. «Probably the worst-configured shard of the bunch. It wants him to constantly make new tech, avoid getting stuck in ruts, but he's motivated to be careful and cherish the stuff he's already built because there was no explanation that he'd be cutting off chunks of the tech tree as he built random stuff.»

"...I am very glad that Quirks do not work like that.  Even and especially the sapient ones.  ...Wait, are you saying that these Tinker powers have a tech tree?  They're not - some unique ability to bend the rules, like Quirks are?  Where'd they get a tech tree from?  Is that why that world is DR 9?"

She frowns and nods. «One of the nerds would explain this better. Pick a nerd.»

Well that's...  Probably concerning.

Pick a nerd?  She's not actually sure which of the others would be under that qualifier - "...Ruby?  Or whoever you think is best, really - you know yourselves better than I do."

Ruby giggles and tumbles into front.

"Hehe, I can do this fine. Typically that's me, Sable, or Maya, and sometimes Hailey."

She bounces up and hugs Momo warmly, then flips the bracelet beads around.
