It's a peaceful night.

Eventually they wake.

She extracts herself from the cuddles, and slips out of the tent to stretch.

Hmm, who is she this morning? She flips all the bracelet sides down while she considers.

Stretch, streeeeeetch.

All their usual checks are ambiguous? Contradictory? But she doesn't feel like a blur. Huh.

Momo is soon up after them.

"Good morning..."

...All the beads are down.

"...I'm going to need to make a new set of beads and so on, I take it.  What color?"

She tilts her head, running a hand through her hair with a grin. "Y'know, I didn't think of that. Was just trying to figure out who I was this morning, and didn't want to flag someone I wasn't."

It's pretty nice hair. It's even blonde, though she kind of wishes it was curlier and...

Long??

Of the ones who like long hair, Sable's attachment to it is fleeting, Maya's too smooth and steady for this mental state, and Neo would be happier about the pink tips than the blonde bulk of it.

Is she???

She bursts into delighted laughter at her sister's excited wiggles in mindspace.

"Looks like you will, babe, in yellow. Yang Xiao Long, pleased to meet ya."

"And I am pleased to meet you!  And much sooner than I would have thought I might have had the chance, at that.  ...I'm glad you're here."

Right, there's the bracelet, the brooch, and the logo to update, she'll just make a new brooch, the bracelet can be restrung -

...What did she just feel slide into place like a lock turning shut --

You know what?  The Company can fuck right off.  They're not spoiling this!

And so she sets to it, carefully fabricating a bead of gold set with a yellow diamond, and similarly, a new, six-sided brooch - that now can open and shut each panel individually, rather than opening one and closing another simultaneously.

Yang grins eagerly as she watches, unfastening the bracelet and preparing to string in the new bead.

"It's so cool watching you Create things, and you're so caring in what you make."

"I mean, I have the time?  And it's just...  The right thing to do, I suppose."

She passes the bead over.

And onto the elastic it goes, right next to Ruby's, before everything gets refastened and the bead is flipped up.

"Sure, but it being the right things doesn't stop most people from skipping it. You impress us, babe. Take the praise," she teases, grinning.

"Well, if you insist," she says, with a bit of humor to it, once her brain has turned back on again.

"I do," she replies, kissing Momo's cheek before strolling over to pick the persines.

Right, she was having a thought at some point...

"...Right, um, I don't know all that much about you besides 'Ruby's cool older sister', so, what should I know other than that, if you know?"

"Cheerful brawler," she starts as she sets today's crop into the freezer and gets the two left from yesterday out, "mechanic, not as obsessive an engineer as Rubes but I do well enough, made Ember Celica myself and did all my own maintenance on Bumblebee, my bike."

She carefully cuts the two persines into slices and plates them up, then sets down the knife and holds up her right hand, inspecting it. "Kind of weirded out to have a biological right arm again, honestly. I'd gotten used to the prosthetic, gotten all the synth-nerve sensitivity tuned just right, had it for years.

"Oh well!" She hands Momo a plate. "Breakfast time."

"I was not expecting to find out that you had lost your arm from a casual comment about how you had it again.  I mean I guess that makes sense that that would be the weird thing from your perspective, but I wasn't expecting it!  Let's...  Try to not need another arm replacement, especially one like that.  I'm a field medic, not a surgeon."

"Well, anyway, thanks for breakfast."

"Oh for sure." She replies with a laugh. "We wouldn't even know where to start in terms of recreating the differences in Huntress-grade cybernetics that handle the sensory integration. I know it's a mix of sensors and Auratech, used my Aura to integrate into my sense of touch and proprioception. Huntress-grade straps do the same thing.

"And I wouldn't want to put the other girls through it, even if we didn't have to use civilian prosthetics and we had a surgeon and a healer on the team. My first month or so was rough."

"Yeah, I can imagine.  I don't know if heroics-rated materials are going to have the same Aura things in general.  Although I imagine we'll be able to figure something out once we have Aura to work with."

Wait, Huntress-grade what--?
