Taharqi looks a little bit bemused by Gabe's mentioning of him being naked as if that in itself meant... anything.

"'Different world'," he repeats.

"That is what I said. Oh, wait. You weren't going to hide that from him?"

"What? No! I am just not used to explaining 'we are from another world' to people. It's not like I had the opportunity to specialize in that."

"You might want to take a step back to explain what 'different world' means, exactly."

"There is more than one world, and you can't travel between them the way you could travel by moving the normal way. And they can be quite different from each other, including having different kinds of people, magic or just ways they work. Does that help?"

"Is this like the realm of the dead or the realms of the gods?"

"I am not familiar with either. But our world is not a place that you could walk, or fly, or swim to. No matter how fast or if you could move indefinitely."

"We were in a magical accident, which is what got us here."

"That seems unfortunate. Does your world not have... weapons, or animals? You seemed very unprepared, out there."

He gets to his knees to scoot over to the iron pot, and he grabs some clay bowls to distribute spiced meat with berries to everyone.

Thomas accepts the spiced meat with berries. "So, how about you? Do you often sexily rescue strangers from wild animals?"

"Sexily? I don't often rescue anyone because most people around here would just as soon kill and eat me but the three of you seemed more lost than most."
