"I suppose it must be!"

Shrug. "I bet we can send a phone really up high to see the curvature of the Earth."

"That's manageable. Might even figure out which continent we are on."

"Big landmass, like an island... And there are multiple of those?"

"Four to six of those, depending on how you count!"

"Al...right. Sounds exciting to explore."

Grin. "I am sure it is going to be!" He looks between Taharqi and Sendhei. "Have you guys heard of elephants? Giraffes? Lions?"

"Yes, no, yes," says Taharqi, and Sendhei nods. "I have killed elephants and lions myself, there are some here on the Exiled Lands."

"I think we are somewhere in Africa or maybe the Middle-East?" He shows that on the Earth map. "The continent is known to have darker-skinned people like you two. And the animals I mentioned."

"How... big is the sphere, exactly."

Thomas pokes at the map to get that. "About forty million of this unit of distance." He puts his hands about one meter apart.

"I don't think I can fit something that big in my head," says Sendhei lightly.

"No one can!" Thomas says brightly.

"If it was possible to walk at a steady pace around the world without finding obstacles and doing it every day all day it would take a bit less than one year to do that before you returned to where you started. Does that help?"

He goes slack-jawed at that.

Henry grins.

"So, you see, it's a big world out there."

"Sounds like it. Maybe after I overthrow my government and kill a few gods I will go on a relaxing world-exploration trip."

"Count me in. Sounds like a fun time."

"I am not as enthusiastic about the whole overthrowing and killing, but I would like to explore as well. Definitely at least one of me should be a Henry Librarian."

"Maybe if they didn't want to be overthrown or killed they should have thought twice before sucking so much."

"I was commenting on my enthusiasm, not on the necessity of your plan. Anyway, I want to figure out where we are. Balloon up a camera and see what it shows us."

"How are you going to do that?"

"Have you ever tried to hold something full of air underwater, and it tried to float up? Similar principle but with something lighter than air. I will disassemble a camera and put the bare minimum to take images sand transmit them."

"Cool. I guess we will make a small hot air balloon then? Hot air is lighter than cold air," he explains to the locals. "Get a crystal that makes something hot to heat the air inside the balloon. Send it up, wait to receive the pictures."
