Anthony smiles, slightly forced. "Hopefully nothing has happened while we've been down here."

"Up we go," Dayo agrees cheerfully. And back up they are led.

Whereupon someone contacts Anthony!

"… Apparently people have been trying to talk to me, while we've been down there?"

Dayo raises an eyebrow in Kel's direction.

    "—oh, right, yeah, the cave's, like, extra unfindable."

"And we all are too, when we're in it?"

    "Yeah, stuff doesn't work through it.—well radio and talking n' stuff does but not magic and thinking."

"Thinking?"

    "Hard to think about the cave when you're outside it if you're not with us."

"Is it hard to think about the outside if you're inside and not with us?"

    "—huh, guess it might be."
