"It's deadly without prompt medical attention and anyway I'm not saying you should, like. Go through the place. Come on, I just wanna show you, it's super cool, you'll see."

"So we are not going through the deadly traps?"

"Well not if you don't want to?"

"I would rather not put myself at added risk of death right now?"

"Sure, whatever. Let's go?"

Anthony motions for him to lead the way.

On they go.

...eventually they notice that although the lighting has not changed there are no longer torches anywhere to actually emit the light.

Anthony decides to comment on this.

"– How magical is this whole place, then?"

"Oh very. Every third thing's magical."

"It doesn't have any… weird effects?"

"Huh?"

"There's no – people mysteriously catching fire, hallucinating, or… other bad things…?"

"What no why would that happen."

"I have no idea what magic is around here?"

    "No it's more like—automatic doors or heating or noise-cancellation or people being magically likely to run into you when you need them and they're free..."

"...that last one sounds kinda creepy."

    Shrug. "It is what it is."

"I think all of those sound kinda creepy, actually."

"Really? Why?"

"… I hesitate to say unnatural but basically that."

"...well so's your telepathy thing then."

"… Yeah but I know how that works. So it's less creepy, at least for me."

"'S just what it is," he shrugs.
