"Sure. We can learn about... coral reefs or whatever, pop sci."

"I'll ask for recommendations for the better pop-sci from the science crowd."

Thumbs up.

"Is there anything else we should be discussing at the moment?"

"Don't think so, keep me posted on how you want things to proceed and we'll see each other when Paula finds a good intro dungeon for you?"

"Sure, do I give Ms. Baker your number as well? Or whoever ends up being my agent."

"Yeah, and if they're both Maple they should know each other and be able to coordinate."

"Cool."

It's the day after the next when Paula flags a suitable introductory dungeon for them that wants sensing. It's a hall of mirrors; they're hoping the chaining ability will allow Katherine to identify real victims from reflections when rescue SWAT are looking through it. There's monsters, big starfish creeping along the mirrors and the floor, but they're not very threatening and easily dispatched with hand weapons (they don't want guns in the dungeon because they'll ricochet off the mirrors without even scratching them; they want the mirrors, once they figure out how to get them detached from the dungeon).

She's wearing her hiking shoes (she's been going for walks in the park to break them in a little bit), rugged pants, a plain shirt and a scarf around her neck and her tinted glasses in are in a pants pocket along with her new "official" phone.

"I also got a set of binoculars though it didn't sound like those would be helpful here. They might be useful sometime though."

"Plausibly. I'm not enormously valuable in this dungeon, but if you feel adequately ensconced with the SWAT guys at the entrance, I might go in and assassinate the boss monster as long as I'm here."

"I will...probably be fine?"

"I'll stay here at least to start, maybe make some briefer forays and kill starfish and see how those sit, it's your first dungeon ever."

"....Yeah."

He parks with her at the entrance.

A squad awaits her signal before they head in.

"So they want to know where the victims actually are?"

"Yeah. Otherwise they'll go the wrong way and get lost."

"That should be pretty simple. Am I talking to them directly or?"

"Yes. Comms should work, so you don't have to use your power for that part."

"Awesome." She checks to make sure the comms device is working. "I think that's everything?"

"You heard her," Haru tells the team, and in they tromp, machete-ing starfish as they go.

And she can identify the actual locations of the victims for them despite the disorientating mirrors.

She speeds up the rescues considerably and gets lots of breaks when they're following their marked trail out to the portal again each time they grab a victim. Haru takes a couple short excursions to dispatch starfish and babysit a team that's there to try a new idea for getting a mirror detached but mostly hangs out with her holding her hands.
