:If there was a way to communicate between the worlds then Enara could have loaded up on passengers in advance, maybe?:

:I don't have a way to communicate, though! I guess I could do a Gate and send Enara back, once she's all caught up, and then rest and do the next Gate at exactly the same time a day later, so she could have everyone lined up right there...:

:I don't know how we could manage exact, I'm not an astronomer, but maybe they'd be willing to wait a bit:

:We could do it at dawn here? That's easy to recognize. Probably it's not at the same time as dawn in my world, why would it be, but then Enara can check what time it is when she arrives and just have people ready half a candlemark before that. I think they wouldn't mind waiting around that long:

:Sure, that works, I thought you mean the same time as this one but that makes more sense:

:No, no, it doesn't have to be the same time as when I got Enara, it's easier to specify it the other way around. Do you not have timekeeping here?:

:We can tell when the sun comes up and whereabouts it is. And some people learn to tell how much night has elapsed by the stars but it's very complicated:

:Huh. We have candles that're supposed to take a certain length of time, that's why we say 'candlemarks', and we have sundials that measure a bit more precisely where the sun is, and then in the city there are temples that ring their bells at certain times, I think the Palace has someone who's an expert just in knowing what time it is and when the bells should ring:

:I guess that's convenient if you need to coordinate a very tiring magic spell across universes:

:Mmm. But I'm still not going to be rested enough to try again until tomorrow, and then we'll have to wait an entire other day before we can get more people here and DO anything:

:Who else should come?:

:My uncle Vanyel: she says instantly. :He's incredibly powerful. And his aunt Savil, probably. Maybe some others who aren't mages but are experienced with fieldwork in general?:

:Is 'powerful people' actually what we need here? Your country's gearing up for a war and you alone already have plenty of oomph to break amulets - I'd be more worried about getting the elementals a place to go - speaking of which I need to go talk to a couple of them:

She wants Van there because he'll HUG her and tell her she's been very brave and then make all the decisions for her. :I don't know. I was thinking Van has Fetching and Farsight, so he might be able to steal amulets right off people without having to be in the room, but...I guess we could get other people who just have those Gifts:

:Oh, that'd be good, we're not supposed to take school elementals too far from campus so they'll all be fairly close together even if most of them are checked out:

Fiiinally something going right. Jisa smiles. :And if we send Enara through tomorrow once we've talked through what we need, she'll have a day to figure out who's even available and get them together: A sudden sharp pang of longing pierces her chest. :- Treven won't be available. Since he's the heir. I really miss him:

:Sweetheart?:

Jisa nods. :We're lifebonded. Do you have lifebonds here?:

:It's...sort of like my bond to Enara, except even more, and he didn't Choose me or anything, it just happened. Also lifebonds make people very in love:

:How do they... just happen, exactly:

:I don't think we know for sure, but Uncle Van says that he thinks the gods use them as a way of meddling. I don't really want to be part of some god's scheme, but: shrug, :Trev is worth it anyway:

:Do the elementals or anyone else who comes across have to worry about this - the elementals are to a one very touchy about, uh, that kind of thing, there's an Adamant I can't even check out because I look too much like somebody - and it sounds awful to me too -:

:Oh no. Er, I don't think people who aren't even from our world would end up lifebonded? Since it's done by the gods and I think it'd need to happen before you were born, probably...:

:Probably?:
