She notices, of course.

"Have you two - been well?"

"Yeah. My aunt and uncle were really great, and - " He grows sad, briefly. "They died a bit back, but - I met Leya just after that. It's been - I've been learning a lot, lately."

"My - adoptive - parents are still alive," Leya says. "They raised me very well. They've taken a shine to Luka."

She nods. "I'm glad."

"I'm - sorry I wasn't able to raise you two."

Leya raises an eyebrow, considering her.

"Why didn't you?"

"I was in - a tough situation. That..."

"You don't have to give us - all the details. Lots of people get in tough situations." He sends Leya a hard glance. "It's normal. And neither of us suffered for it."

She smiles a bit. "You're good kids." And, glancing at Elesse: "Thank you for - bringing us together."

"I am happy to be able to provide this opportunity. What you make of it is up to you. All of you."

She smiles fondly.

And, to her children: "You two don't - need to accept me back into your life if you don't want to. Or you can take your time. I - know I wasn't ever around. And I know I'm - sometimes a difficult person, and one with a lot of secrets."

She pauses.

"Still, I'd... Like to get to know you two."

He smiles back. "I want to get to know you, too." And he glances at Leya.

She sighs.

"I - don't long for a mother or anything. My mother Queen Breha is amazing, and I love her. And I love my father, too."

"But... I wouldn't mind getting to know you, either."

She nods, accepting.

"I'm not looking to replace them. They raised you. They're your parents, as much as or more than I am."

Leya nods.

"And having three parents is also completely normal," Luka says, firmly. "Lots of people have three parents. Sometimes four, even."

She laughs. "You must know some interesting crowds."

"Just people. They're all interesting."

"Then I'll let you and our Jedi here handle any sweet talking." She grins at Elesse.

"And you'll step in when someone needs knifed?"

"I provide all the best alternative charm."

"Is that what you call it?"

"Ties in well with the rest of my good qualities."

She laughs.

She grins.

"Are you three staying nearby?"

"We're not in walking distance, but it isn't a far flight."
