"Similar personalities and circumstances, huh..."

"More similar than we might wish, occasionally."

She smiles back.

"If they don't mind only adding to their questions about their mother, I - "

"Would like to get to know them, I think."

"That is good. They should be coordinating the defenses."

Her smile turns a bit softer as she starts walking back again.

"What're you planning to do, until your shining cavalry of alts comes to save the day?"

"I have been considering how best to encourage the world to save itself."

"Are you not planning to confront the Villain, then?"

"If it proves necessary. My understanding is that they have been fairly quiescent of late."

"Even if they did horrid things in the past?"

"People can change over time. I suppose if any of their victims are alive and seeking restitution, and their current attitude toward those victims and the things they did."

She hums. "So restitution over revenge."

"When possible. In my experience, it is... more satisfying for all parties, in the long run."

"Revenge is often somewhat easier."

"This is true."

"Though I think I'd be disappointed if the world was cleverly arranged so all the satisfying paths were easy and clearly marked."

"That would make them less satisfying."

She laughs. "Perhaps some good things can be obvious, though."

"It keeps you on your toes."

"Sometimes fun."

"Especially if you enjoying dancing."

"I usually do. Though it's nice to rest, too."

She nods.

She sends Elesse a soft, warm smile.
