"I appreciate your coming today." 

She nods and goes.

Is Savil leaving too, or staying to talk to Lancir?

Savil nods to Deskyl, but stays behind, exchanging a look with Lancir. 

They go back to their room, then, and DZ spends the rest of the day in the library.

A few Heralds come by but seem too busy and harried to actually talk to her. Eventually, a very young curly-haired girl in paler green robes than the Healers wear comes by. 

"Oh, are you the droid from another world that Gemma mentioned?" she says brightly. "I'm Shavri! What are you reading?" 

"Yes ma'am." She gives the name of the history text she happens to be in the middle of.

"Oh - I haven't read that one yet. Are you enjoying it?" 

"It's well-written but I think it might be a little sensationalized, ma'am."

Shavri giggles. "I've thought that about some of the history books I studied. Oh, and sometimes they're by someone from a particular religion so it's all 'this god probably did this thing.' What seems sensationalized about that one?" 

She can describe the evidence that led her to this conclusion in detail. Not so much detail as to be boring, but she still references patterns of events in half a dozen other books.

Shavri is definitely not bored. At all. "Wow, you've really read a lot of books!" Anyone who can read that many books is someone she wants to be friends with. 

"Yes ma'am. I expect to have read the entire library in another week."

"I wish I could read that fast! Do you remember things from all the books? If I read faster I remember things less." 

"Yes ma'am."

"I'm jealous. That's really neat now! Er, do you like it in Haven so far? I really liked it because there were so many books, but I bet you have even more books where you're from." 

"Yes ma'am. I could recite one if you'd like?"

"Sure!" 

"What kind of book would you like to hear?

"What kinds are there? Oh, if you know one about medicine from your world, that would be really interesting. Or just about how bodies work." 

"I have books on basic biology and first aid for humans and several common alien species from our world, ma'am."

"Ooh! Er, probably for humans." 

"Yes ma'am." She gives the title of a first aid manual and starts reciting.

Shavri listens attentively and takes notes. 

DZ will read right through it, if Shavri doesn't interrupt her, and then progress to the elementary biology textbook.

Shavri listens the entire way through the first aid manual, but when DZ switches, she jumps suddenly. "Goodness! I think I'm late for my lesson, I had really better go - that was so interesting though! Er, do you want to come over to my room for tea sometime?" She's gotten a bit less shy about making friends with people since she arrived in Haven.
