"We should head back home to settle things there later today. We only packed with staying one night in mind. Before we have to leave, though-" he shrugs.

"Nothing specific really. Sparring, and... Oh! I was gonna show you my sketchbook," he reminds Sawney. "I left it in the kitchen."

"Oooh, I want to see it too."

"Do you think it's going to take a while to uproot your life there?"

"Not really. We've only been there for a few months. It might take us a week, maybe. I need to quit my job, we need to settle things with the landlord, pack up the apartment, maybe rent a storage unit." He looks over at Aaron, "We'll need to work out how we're getting all the things we want to bring with us here. I'm guessing we should talk to your dad about that?"

Jamie beams at Gabe, "I'd be happy to show you!" He un-leans, glancing at Alex, who waves him off. To the kitchen?

To the kitchen! Morgan is not there but his presence can be felt in their hearts and in the pile of snacks left on the table, next to the sketchbook.

"'your dad'? Stephen is not my dad."

"He was looking at me, and yeah. I am sure we will work something out. No worries."

"Gosh, I wonder what we could do to get to call him 'daddy'."

"Dude, gross."

Alex nods, snorting at the byplay, "Yeah, I meant Aaron's dad," he confirms.

Snacks! Jamie will eat some of this thoughtfully provided deliciousness. Nom.

"That daddy stuff always seemed a little weird to me," he muses once he's swalled his first bite. He shrugs - food in hand (and mouth), he flips open the sketchbook in his unoccupied one, handing it over to Sawney.

There's a lot of Alex in this book: Alex, playing guitar; Alex, in profile, glaring at someone; Alex, smiling up at the viewer; Alex, face downcast, dark feathered wings spreading out behind his back, and a halo of light behind his head; Alex, bruised and bloody and baring his teeth. None of the sketches of Alex are nude, though he's often shirtless.

There's other people, too, of course - a woman painstakingly sewing a patchwork quilt; a man laughing, his head thrown back and eyes squinting with mirth; a little boy, caught in the act of leaping from one hopscotch square to the next; a group of teenagers mock-fighting each other with sticks, faces bright with exhilaration; an unknown man, his naked form silhouetted against the floor-to-ceiling window in front of him, his posture thoughtful as he leans against the glass.

There's scenery, as well, interestingly twisted trees and old, abandoned buildings; a stand of coral attended by dozens of tiny fish; the moon, both in the sky and reflected off an ice rink below.

Some other things are scattered throughout, here and there - a cat on a fence, its shadow taking the form of a man; a spider sitting in a web made out of hundreds of tiny, near-illegible words; a puddle with a fantastical city-scape within it; a woman's face, mostly indistinct, but with galaxies in her eyes.

Gabe has commentary to offer, mostly positive commentary. He seems to particularly appreciate his ability to catch facial expressions, something he himself struggles with.

(People start grabbing snacks.)

"Facial expressions are my favourite part. It took a long time to get to the point where I mostly get them right, but I think I maybe focused more on them than a lot of people do," he tells Gabe. "I don't have much of the stuff I did before we, uh, left home, but I used to fill books with just facial expressions. Classmates, random people on the street, Alex, various people we knew..." he shrugs. He also grabs another snack, because they are delicious. As a side benefit, eating more snacks will, presumably, make Morgan happy with him, and he has no reason not to do that.

"Meanwhile, Gabe took his time learning how to draw dicks."

"I am sorry for admiring the human form!"

He giggles, "I'm not bad at that, either. None of that in this sketchbook, though. I left those ones at home."

(Alex gives him a look. Jamie grins at him.)

"Aww," pout. He says still looking at the sketchbook. "Maybe we can get some good sketches before you have to go?"

"Oo, I do you guys, you do us?" He asks, cackling internally at the double meaning. He gives the both of them a long look, half-assessing, half-admiring. "I wouldn't say no to a few hours of staring at you two. What do you think, Lex? Wanna give Gabe some practice at expressions? We make such different ones, after all."

"...Sure," he snorts. "Anything for the art."

"Art is great. Do you mind if I ask Henry and Franklyn to join us? For artistic purposes that is."

Jamie glances at Alex, who offers a shrug. He grins at Gabe, "Not at all! I was thinking of asking Franklyn to model for me, I didn't get near enough time yesterday to get enough details for a really true-to-life sketch."

"But presumably, you got some details. Because it is Franklyn who we are talking about."

"Of course, I got lots of details. But it never hurts to get another look!"
