"...if you want to?"

"Yep."  He wraps his arms over Haru's shoulders.  "Three, two, one -" hop up, leg wrap.

"This way I can't see you so you've got to do more of the work of making sure you're situated. Ready for test hovering?"

He adjusts his grip, but then: "Yes."

"Up up and not very far away." An inch off the ground, a turn around the coffee table, back down.

"A lot better for skin contact but the carabiner's kind of stabby on my end."  (Time to viscerally imagine getting somehow impaled by a rounded object?  Apparently!  Well, or maybe it could break something in his ribcage; that seems more likely.  Or Haru's spine.  ...Is this scenario, unlike any of the other ones he's been imagining, worth sharing?  No, probably not; it's already covered by what he said out loud.)

"We could wrap it up in something?"

"Maybe?  Yeah, that might work."

Haru unhooks them and goes to get a clean dishtowel. "Like so?"

"Still kind of boney."

"Anything a lot squashier than that's going to obviate the skin contact benefits, I'd think..."

"That seems true.  We can just do the other one, and maybe I'll wear shorts for it?"

"You might get cold, I don't go that high or fast but it'll still be windy. We might want to wrap a blanket around the both of us."

"Seems smart."

There's a selection under the couch; Haru grabs a batik quilt in every shade of brown which should be big enough and leaves it on the armrest. "After dinner, then. Knight in absolutely no shining armor because it would defeat the purpose."

"And it would probably be so hard and pinchy and otherwise uncomfortable to painful for me."

"Also I don't even own any. Well, I guess some stuff I wear in some dungeons is arguably armor but it's not the shining kind."

"Which I assume is significantly more comfortable for me but equally purpose-defeating."  Unstrap unstrap unstrap.

"Well, I don't go really heavy duty, it's mostly for lower grade scuffs because nothing that wants to actually attack me knows I'm there." He unharnesses himself. Hug please?? "Like steel toed boots so I can safely kick things, goggles sometimes, gloves, I'm not generally wrapped in Kevlar."

Yes hug!  "That makes sense.  But it's still skin-covering which we do not want.  Well, the goggles would probably be fine."  ....He spends some attention looking at the far corners of the room, and yep, they're a little less blurry than normal.  "- Huh."

"I'm technically supposed to wear glasses.  Or, was, a week ago."

"Oh, I didn't realize - I don't think you had them on at the dungeon, even. Should be clearing up though."

"I don't wear them ever.  I don't even have an up-to-date prescription."

"Huh, why not?"
