"I usually do a bridal carry, it works out well with how I tend to hold myself in flight. I'll also take people piggyback if they're in shape to handle it and I need my hands free."

"Hmm.  I'm going to try it on."  He does so, and after several minutes of tweaking the tightnesses and tugging on things making sure he's really, very definitely not going to slip out because there's bone in the way, he determines, "I think if we hook this point on me," on his side, "to this one on you," on his front, "that should lend itself fine to a knight carry?"

"I'm not familiar with the term, is it one of the several names for 'one arm under the knees and the other under the back'?"

"It is in that I just made it up because I didn't like either of the other names that I already knew it to have."

"Fair enough. Am I the knight in this metaphor or are you?" He tweaks his own harness.

"Well, you are.  'Princess', is the other name I've heard."

"My assumption has been that both the notional princess and the notional bride are the carried parties, but I suppose we can presume they are carried by knights, sure. These hook up like - so?"

"According to Reddit and a few blogs, yes."  Tug tug tug tug.  Yeah this carabiner sure seems locked shut.  And Julien watched the stress-test video, and it withstood pressures really well beyond anything they should expect to come close to experiencing.

"If you say so. Once I do take off I'm going to be a chatterbox, are you up for talking or should I interrupt Cricket?" Cricket is watching Riverdance in the window seat.

"Sounds fine.  And I think we only need to do it for a few seconds, this round?"

"Yeah, so I won't be a chatterbox for very long, but I try not to leave myself in the lurch for any amount of time if I can avoid it." He lifts off an inch from the ground. Twirls in a circle and lands again. His hold is very steady.

Bug - giggles?  In a way that seems clearly some amount nervous, but at least potentially also genuine.

"I don't think the harness is interfering with my balance or anything, so that's good."

"It is, and I don't get to do it enough! Did you want to try another configuration?"

"I don't think I'll have any trouble clinging to you for piggyback?  So let's try it."
