He is dressed. "Breakfast."

Aw Oh good. Out the tent flap they go.

Breakfast is mostly more of the same as last night - not that Jaim knows this. He fixes himself another plate and digs in.

"I heard they were keeping you busy yesterday, patching the walls and hunting. Did you have anything in mind for today?" He asks once he's slowed down, his stomache somewhat satisfied.

"I would rather keep myself occupied. If there still work to be done today, I would rather to do that."

He hums, "I expect they would appreciate your help with the hunting, again, and perhaps in setting up some temporary buildings. It is autumn - the tents are enchanted, but, well. The less we must expend our mana the better."

"Yup. Luckily, no worry about fuel is an advantage of my magic system."

"That is an enviable quality it has," he agrees, amused. "If only there were a system with the versality of mine and the unlimited nature of yours."

He looks down at his plate, "As for me... well, I've lost three of my elites - my personal retinue, as a General. I need to go collect their beads to return to their families, and arrange their pyre."

"Oh, I am sorry." He tentatively reaches to put a hand on his shoulder, not very sure of what he is doing. "It's never easy losing people."

He leans into it, a bit.

"I've lost many good people over the years," he says, "You... well. You never get used to it, really. You just get tired."

Knowing nod.

He is silent for a long moment, and then shakes himself, pulling away and looking around. No one is paying them any attention.

"Finished?" He asks briskly, nodding to the other's plate.

Nod. "What is there to do next?"

"If you wanted to help around the fort, particularly with the buildings, I'd go speak to Captain Tuikim - the one who's commanding in the Commander's absence. You can take the runestone," he waves it at him, held between his middle and pointer fingers, "It'll do you more good if you keep it with you to give to anyone you need to talk to than if I hold onto it."

He shrugs, "I should be finished at the makeshift morgue in a few hours. At which point I should probably return to the tent to do something less strenuous, else Ilek will glare." His lips quirk up at the thought.

"Ah, protective younger siblings, I know the feeling. I will go find the Captain then."

He nods, hands over the runestone, and stands to take his plate back, and then go to see to his dead.

The Captain is directing a mildly less hectic command center than yesterday. He nods in greeting when he sees Zephyrinus appproaching, and holds out a hand for the runestone.

"Your help yesterday was invaluable," he tells him after he's activated it, "If you're here to offer it again..." He looks up at him from his place leaning over the map table, "Well, I would appreciate it."

"Yeah, that's why I am here. What do you need?"

He tugs a large sheet of paper out from beneath the top map, revealing a rough sketch of the fort as seen from above. "Hunting, again," he says first of all, "That haul you brought back yesterday was enough to keep everyone properly fed for a while, but one more like it and we could stretch it until the emergency supplies shipment gets here, allowing the hunters to focus on gathering vegetables growing wild. Aside from that," he motions towards the nearest healing tent, which can be seen through the open side of the command pavillion, "We need somewhere better insulated to keep the injured. Keeping those massive tents warm is too draining to keep up for long. You can mould stone, yes?" The patch job he'd done on the walls the day before indicated such.

"Yes, though, primarily by melting it then cooling it in the right shape. How big of a space are we talking about here? How tall? And how permanent?"

He nods, and then motions to the healing tents, "Three the size of the tents, or one as large as all three," he says, "One story, and able to fit fifty beds each. They needn't be permanent - we'll build new ones in the usual fashion once we have reinforcements and the attention of a military architect."

"Okay, sounds doable. Do you have surplus rock around that I can use then? If not I could use wood. My ice can manipulate and cut logs just as fine."

"Well, there's the ruined buildings," he says, motioning that way - though the view of them is blocked by the pavillion's wall. "The clerks can direct you to the ones that have been cleared out, you can use the stone from them. Though wood would also be fine."

Shrug. "Stone and wooden logs for a roof?" The suggests. "Either way I can hunt first and if you need to mark the space, you can do that while I am away."

He nods, "Yes, that seems suitable. I can call a hunter for you, give me a moment."

He beckons over a messenger, who then proceeds to run off, returning shortly before the same hunter as the one Zephyr worked with the day before.

And then they can hunt, and the Captain can send some people to mark out a suitable space.

He says hi to the hunter and after a quick change they can go to work. Zephyrinus asks if the hunter knows anything about good local logging wood, or at least trees he shouldn't uproot in case they would be missed.

And also, efficient killing of animals, he can do that as well.
