"You will definitely get it if you become a magical girl! I do not know of any way to bestow it separately from that but could maybe figure it out."

"Are magical girls from the same universe as it?"

"The kind of magical girl I am right now isn't from a specific universe, it's made of a bunch of things piled up on top of each other, including other kinds of magical girl I have been. The magic language likewise, actually, 'generates new words as needed' is actually a fairly recurring magic-language trait."

"I think you need a spreadsheet."

"You're probably right about that."

"Your new phone is expected at the house in... another thirty to ninety minutes, but if I were you I'd want an entire laptop to make a spreadsheet on... do I need to catch you up on any tech things if the last time you were having an Earth experience it was 1999? I assume you're deriving a lot of phone related information from having seen me use mine."

"It looked like something out of Star Trek but I am not, like, shocked by the future-ish being sci-fi-ish." 

"It is! Though the final frontier remains frontier."

"For now."

"For now!" giggles May.

"Probably makes sense to practice terraforming on Mars before working on exosystem travel, so we don't go anywhere too hostile to life before we can fix that. Also, I like the color red."

"I don't think it'd be very red after a thorough job of terraforming, surely? Red-er maybe but you need ocean and plants."

"Earth isn't very brown from space but if you go outside and interact with stuff you see plenty of dirt."

"That's true, but I'm not sure the red dirt would make very good topsoil, by itself, I think it might need to be mixed with stuff and wind up also brown."

"...Figuring out how to magic it so the dirt ends up red anyway is not a good use of my time and I am not going to do it."

Giggle. "I guess it's not ten-seconds-of-thought obvious how?"

"It sure isn't! ...I mean I guess I could do an illusion of red dirt but that is really not saliently satisfying."

"Yeah, you could do that just as well here, it wouldn't be meaningful."

"Maybe I will terraform it with lots and lots of plants with red flowers. And I think there are kinds of plant that have red leaves, at least some of them. This is a very silly line of inquiry."

"It'll be so cool to finally have Mars, though. How about zeppelins in the upper atmosphere of Venus, anything you've got for those?"

"...Venus is, like, really toxic, right? Gonna have to seal those really well...or detoxify the place...I will get back to you on options for Venus after, like, doing research about it."

"I think the idea is that breatheable air would be light enough to keep a balloon aloft so you could just live inside the balloon."

"Sure but again you'd have to be really careful about leaks, and I don't know what the agriculture would look like."

"Me either. It'd be cool though."
