A dark space, lit with eerie green light. In front, four hovering pictures. Soft, instrumental music.
And two women, unconscious, in front of them.
Tabs pauses. “Ah...Christ. There’s no real easy answer. Basically, he’s a nice Templar in a bunch of missions. The one with Feynriel, the Starkhaven apostates, when your sibling gets kidnapped...”
"Okay, cool. A templar we can probably trust, then. Awesome. Making contact with him seems like a good first step?"
Tabs beams happily. “Feynriel and her both get sold to slavers. By Samson. I figure, tonight, after we meet Hawke and the others, we pay Samson a visit? Put the fear of Elgar’nan in him.”
She pauses, frowning. “My vallaslin is Elgar’nan, right?”
Anya blinks and looks at the tattoo on her face. "Yeah, I have no idea. Gimme the paper and I'll try and sketch it."
Anya kind sucks at sketching but eventually she ends up with something recognisable.
"Oh, hell yeah. That's Elgar'nan. God of duality and vengeance. I'm very much in Wildling's wheelhouse."
“Wildling is something of a wish-fulfilment self insert so maybe I am actually as cool as my wishes are?”
“All right all right all right?”
Tabs takes the list back and frowns at it. “We’ll get to see who Hawke has recruited already tonight, so we’ll deal with that as need be. Do we need to help with Seb’s stuff?”
Anya groans and flops back on the bed.
"Do we have to? It's not like it's urgent or anything. He's just a guy out for vengeance, isn't he?"
“Yeah, but...he’s hot. And I like the way he says ‘murder’,” Tabs says, affecting a terrible Scottish accent.
She rolls her eyes and pokes her. "Doesn't matter if he's hot. Everyone is hot. I don't think it's something we need to meddle with. He figures it all out eventually. Plus, isn't that in act two?"
“The Harriman stuff is. Act 1 is Flint Company. Bunch of mercenaries hanging around. It’s optional to go after them, Seb recruits your help anyway, you just get a powerful amulet from the mission.”
"Eh. Sounds like he'll be fine? Think we need to focus on stuff that goes badly and try and change it."
"True. We need to jump into the stuff that will affect the qunari, Anders, and Hawke."
Tabs taps her lip. "Hmm. We can rule out the guy killing elf children, we came too late to prevent that. Depending on where the Winters are, we might be able to get to Saemus before his qunari boyfriend dies."
She hugs her many, holding tight.
"Are not. It's not like we had any control over this... and treating them like real nonfictional people is going to be a huge learning curve."
"If we'd gotten here earlier, and we could've saved him, I absolutely would've, do not get me wrong. I wouldn't sacrifice him so I could get Anders on the rebound," she jokes, incredibly weakly.
"Call me that again and I'll slap you upside the head. I was the one advocating for Meredith's death, loser." She pokes Anya.
