"I mean I couldn't expect you to-- have the same feelings about me as I did about you."

"I still shouldn't have let you think I didn't care about you." 

"I mean it would-- have hurt either way. To be around you and want-- things-- and not be able to have them. If I were good I would be able to do that probably but-- I'm not a good person. I'm honestly kind of a crap person."

"You're not a crap person. 

And I'm still sorry for hurting you more than I had to." 

He pulls away. 

"I don't. Really want to talk to you. I hope you can understand."

He doesn't try to hold on.

"Yeah. 

Thank you. Goodbye?" 

"Goodbye."

He's not crying. He's not crying. He's going to wait until Chen leaves and then he can cry.

He turns to go. 

"Wait," Kaleva says. "Can I-- can I kiss you. I know you don't want to I just. --I always wanted to, and if I didn't at least ask I think I would regret it. It's fine to say 'no', I wouldn't be mad or anything and-- it was stupid. Sorry, I shouldn't have asked at all. I can just. Go into another room now."

He shouldn't. There's Ben, he isn't in love with Kaleva (he thinks maybe in a different world he could have been, but that's a point against, not a point in favor —) 

And Kaleva looks so miserable, and it's Chen's fault. 

He turns back and moves towards Kaleva and says "yes," before he can regret it. 

Kaleva kisses him. It's sweet and chaste, a brush of lips against lips.

"Sasha's really good. You'd like him."

"I'm glad you have him." 

"Yeah. --I'm not going back to Auradon Prep."

"That makes sense. — do you know what you are doing?" 

"Mostly I've been hanging out with Sasha but I'm probably ever going to want to do something else. He has to stay in New Orleans and New Orleans doesn't have great schools. Maybe I'll study for the college entrance exams on my own."

He nods. "That — sounds like a good plan." 

He puts his hands in his pockets. "So. Bye. I guess. Good luck with uh. Being alive and everything."

"Goodbye. 

And — thank you." 

He isn't sure what he's thanking him for, but that's alright. 

He goes. 

Okay. Where is Sasha. He needs to cry on Sasha's shoulder.

Sasha was waiting in a different room for them to be finished; when Chen leaves he comes back in and hugs Kaleva. 

He cries.

After a while, he says, "he kissed me."

His hand is on the back of Kaleva's head. "Do you wish he hadn't?" 

"No. I wish he were into guys."

"I'm sorry." He pulls Kaleva closer and kisses his forehead. 

He kisses Sasha's forehead. "I'm going to drop out of Auradon Prep. I can probably study on my own enough to pass the Oxford entrance exam. And if things go well with us you can see what you think of England."
