"'Galactic'?"

"Edda's big. Most dimensions have one inhabited planet, so far, Edda's got thousands. So even though they'll happily handle multiverse stuff as needed, the consortium is being built closer to home. Shine's becoming a member and in two more years I think Stork'll apply for membership and then they can call themselves a dimension-spanning empire."

"Warp is big too."

"Which is why it seems like they'll be a useful resource for you, having had more time how to think how to get the most leverage out of the resources all this multiverse-hopping can fetch us - like, what's it most Cam's-time-effective to have him make, where can we deploy Hex's and Wish's sharply-limited but very-powerful stuff, how best do we roll out whatever the Space Fëanors pulled off lately - their end goal is for everyone on every planet in their consortium to have no material scarcity, invulnerability, and a short-range teleport, with a designated spot on each planet to emigrate from."

"Are they close to pulling that off?"

"They can cut the mortality rate of any preindustrial place pretty much in half every year after they land there, but we're bottlenecked on demons for the end-scarcity part."

"I wanna be a demon."

"I think you'd get bored of constantly terraforming planets for the empire. We're lucky Cam adores that kind of work."

"I thought there were tons of demons. Is the bottleneck on which ones you trust with information or which ones you trust with enough freedom to terraform things?"

"With the secret that there's something they can conjure to let them hop dimensions at will, though enough freedom to terraform things is also a bit of a concern."

"It seems like if somebody with a teleport gave them a ride you wouldn't have to let them encounter the concept of worldleapers."

"Honestly it's a matter of time before it gets out anyway, we need a better solution. But if I got a teleport across dimensions I'd definitely be motivated to start looking for records relevant to that, and Hell's curators have everything, and looking up the complete works of my father would do it."

"- the Space one, not your actual father?"

"Yes, yes, around here we just got around to inventing the heavy club. The Space Arda is almost hilariously far out in front. The other versions of my father'd be hurt, but Space set can't do magic and have inferior osanwë and had the worst war, so -"

"What happened?"

Did they not tell him.

"They had a population of billions instead of hundreds of thousands, so the Enemy could be way way worse and things were worth it to stop him that wouldn't have been against ours, and they had to make a deal with him to stop hurting people in exchange for them destroying Valinor. The trick was that they could bring it back - space Elves are resurrectable without Mandos. Everything's okay now but that doesn't make it not have happened."

Cam didn't want to say and Loki thought it would be a good idea to ask adult Fëanáros before figuring out how to explain it to this one, Boots explains.

If there's other things you're keeping from him I need to know what they are so I can talk far enough around them, he's going to take them way harder if it comes to his attention that they're secrets before he's clear to learn what they are.

Evil Arda. You and your cousin dating Kib, Iobel being married to Mitros - I'm doing sort of a surrogate parent thing and I don't know how to make that not weird. It hasn't come up that you're with your cousin by default either but that's less 'secret' and more 'didn't come up'.

Okay. "I think Curufinwë will be the happiest person in the world if you let him explain servantmaking to you," he says to Fëanáro, "though only Lári can do it. It's how we have all the cool robots, see -"

He catches a glimpse of one and takes off to soar over the crowd and go get a closer look. Maitimo raises an eyebrow at his brother and sister and they follow.

"Anyway," he says, "very nice to meet you, Boots, Rúmil - have you picked a nickname, Rúmil -"

"Not yet, I'll consider what seems sensible."

"Hi Other Rúmil," chirps Boots.

"Hello! I can't say I had the privilege of knowing Kib very well, I spent most of my time in the south once Melkor decided to settle in Tirion."

(Bella's Rúmil nods.)
