He lands. He osanwë-shouts. Hi, everyone, this is the Fëanáro and the Bella and the Rúmil from the new dimension, we can teach you our magic and it's really powerful!

"It sounds like we're 'Bells'," says Boots. "As a group."

"Okay. I suppose I could shout at them all to correct them but I don't know if that's a good idea."

"It probably wasn't a very good idea to shout at them in the first place."

"Why not?"

"They might have been busy, and they expect background noise about as loud as us talking so they can tune Loki out when she makes an announcement aloud, but probably don't expect to be osanwëd at suddenly."

"But they'll want to know. I'd want to know. We can teach them magic."

"We didn't bring any scrolls to give them lessons right now and the opportunity to learn wizardry is not going to evaporate, so it's not an emergency."

"I'd want to know right away, though."

"But nobody's running out here at top speed, so I don't think they agreed with you - or if they did, they're talking about it amongst themselves first, which would also have let them propagate the information to anyone who wasn't listening."

"Okaaaay."

(Loki is amused but she keeps quiet about it.)

And a short time later rather a horde of Noldor approaches.

Anybody Boots recognizes in there?

This world's Rúmil is present (and sighted) but near the back of the horde; Nerdanel is present, stifling a giggle at the sight of little Fëanáro and gripping the arm of the adult Fëanáro.

Awww. Boots waves.

Most people haven't actually met the peal and don't recognize her.

Fëanáro is bouncing happily on his toes. "Hi!" he says. "We're from an Arda that got a interdimensional visitor way sooner than any of yours, when I was ten..." and he goes on to explain, bubbly, the whole story, "and then while we were evacuating Materia another Bell landed there and found us and found a way to come to the world. And wizardry works even when not adjacent, and it's great, we're inventing spells for all kinds of things! And you can use Maiar for mana so you don't even run out! And I wanted to meet all of my children - apparently this is the only world where I can meet all of my children -"

And there's a moment's pause and then seven Elves and one human push their way forward, smiling broadly. The King's in the lead, and red-haired, and he kneels to be at Fëanáro's level and is still a little taller. "We are very flattered that you came here first," he says. "Welcome to Shine. I'm Maitimo."

"-d'you want Bella to fix you, because she's a therapist -"

"Please do not introduce the idea like that to people we've only just met. In front of everybody, even."

He shakes his head, laughing. "I hear the Valar in some worlds are much less reasonable than ours! Even before Elspeth had a talk with them, ours managed not to do any appallingly ill-advised things except the pardon and they were a tremendous aid in healing our wounded after the war. Poor Bella will not be swamped with therapy requests. It is convenient to have someone around to fix everything you can't fix just by applying enough inventiveness, isn't it? We end up leaning on our Bells quite a lot, most worlds I've heard of. Anyway, this is Macalaurë -" and so on.

"You can call me Boots, I'm told Bella's redundant and it wouldn't be fair to Gem and Golden if I kept using it even interdimensionally," Boots mentions when there's a break in the introductions.

"I am by the same token Island, and actually prefer it to my given name, but it wouldn't be fair to my father to introduce us all by hastily-chosen peal nicknames when he's the one who named us so, um, painstakingly. Why Boots?"

She lifts up on her tiptoes, clicks her heels together. "My solution to the apparently endemic clumsiness issue. I could've gone with something else but Boots amuses me."

"Boots is lovely. Have you already stopped by Vanda Nossëo to get their resources-for-running-a-galactic-consortium talk and documentation and procedures? It sounds like it'd come in handy."

"Not yet. Epic wanted to meet his alternate universe children. We do mean to stop there too though."

"They've had a while, have some nice things like things we can produce sorted by how much money we get for our effort on the galactic market, and then interventions for planets at various levels of development by cost-effectiveness. Space has got the enviable xenobiology labs, they were so far ahead of we flat Ardas on tech that it didn't make any sense for Vanda Nossëo to try taking that over."
