"Yeah, that gets into the second thing. In Auradon, if you are in love with one person, you're not supposed to acknowledge that you're sexually attracted to anyone else. I think the general line is that if you're in love with someone then you can't be sexually attracted to someone else, but whether or not that's true for normal people that's definitely not true for me. I gather on the Isle it is different. We should pick whether we're doing it the Auradon way or the Isle way."

"…the Auradon way sounds incredibly stupid, let's not do that. On the Isle people are sexually attracted to whoever they're attracted to and if they're in the kind of relationship where you talk to your partner before having sex with someone else then they do that and if they aren't they don't, most people aren't but we probably should be given all of the," he makes a vague hand gesture at the entire room and possibly the entire country, "everything." 

"I think this is extremely theoretical for me because I'm pretty skeptical I will ever find two people who want to have sex with me, but I don't mind you having sex with other people without asking as long as it makes you happy and it doesn't mean that you don't care about me."

"I don't think I'm ever going to understand the Auradon way. It definitely doesn't mean I don't care about you, any more than if — I don't know, if I sat with someone else at lunch one day — but I probably won't do it anyway given Auradon." 

"You seriously don't have to. I was really upset because I thought it meant you didn't care about me but now I know you do and whether or not you have sex with someone else is not going to affect it. So now my one unicorn in this race is that I really want to be allowed to stare at Chen. --You know sometimes the entire team comes over and they all hang out shirtless? It is, in retrospect, amazing. Prince Asher has the body of a god."

This seems like it calls for hugging Kaleva. "I will definitely not be bothered by you staring at Chen. Or Prince Asher, or anyone else on Chen's tourney team." 

"And you can have sex with whoever you want, although I'd really appreciate it if one of the people you wanted to have sex with was me."

"Of course."

"Third thing-- I'm not sure if you realized it, but at this point in an Auradon relationship if we were a man and a woman we would be engaged."

"On the island, 'engaged' is a thing you see on entertainment news if you watch entertainment news. It's not a thing you do." 

"I-- I'm not going to leave you. Ever. Unless you're planning to murder me and my sister so you can be Duke of Weaselton, but please don't do that, Weaselton is a horrible little place and they don't have any fruit there." (He's joking.)

"I have no interest in being a duke and even less interest in murdering you. 

Forever hasn't been a thing I've been able to promise people, I don't know what's going to happen in a year or two or five, but I don't want to leave you." 

"Good enough for me. --Fourth thing, I am... technically a duke? A terrible duke whose father hates him and wants to pretend he doesn't exist but, in fact, a duke."

"Huh. Lord Kaleva doesn't sound awful. You wouldn't know my parents' names, if it matters, they were both random henchmen." 

"I think the actual style is something like 'Kaleva, the younger duke of Weselton,' which, ugh."

"Yeah, that's awful.

I would like to visit Weselton sometime, see the place where you grew up." 

"I guess we can if you want to but I haven't been since I was fourteen. I spend summer breaks with Chen's family."

"— no, if you didn't want to that would defeat the point." 

"It is a terrible place and I am happy to live somewhere that has warm weather and doesn't have my family."

"I'm sorry your family are how they are." Now is obviously not the time to ask how they are. 

"I didn't actually mean to bring it up, I just-- my dad sucks but he gives me an allowance that's 'suitable for a duke'"-- heavy sarcasm on that phrase-- "and I have almost no expenses, and it's been building up for two years, and-- if you want books or clothes or food or anything I have literally nothing else to spend it on."

Sasha has absolutely no idea what range of behavior an Auradonian might mean by "my dad sucks," but he can understand the basic concept of an allowance. 

"It might be nice to have clothes that didn't come from the trash." It's not like they haven't been washed since then, but. "But we can figure that out later, were there more things?" 

"--Whatever you got out of having sex with Harry I can do it for you, I can figure it out, and then you don't have to have sex with someone who'll hurt you."

"I.....really don't think you can. Even given that you have money."
