"Then why protect him?"

"Because no-one else ever did. And I promised Aten. And I promised- I promised my summoner that I would."

"I promised Braska I'd look after his daughter. And Jecht, his son."

"Sometimes promises are the only thing worth living for."

"And if we fail? What then?"

"I don't intend to."

"The fayth woke up. I failed."

"-Ah. Jecht was from the dream then."

"Jecht is Sin, but yes. His son was also from the dream."

"Quite the thing. But the fayth weren't going to dream forever."

"No. But I wish they'd left enough magic to let Tidus live."

"That would have been a blessing for you."

"And for Spira, I can assure you. He may have been bold and loud, but his heart was good."

"Truly, there aren't enough good hearts left."

"I think Yuna's managed to collect the best ones left in Spira."

There's an impression of a fatalistic smirk. "Like attracts like, I suppose." Masquerade looks back to Yuna. "And even I can feel how pure her heart is."

"It's calming, isn't it? Her presence."

"Something like that certainly..."

“She’s going to be the one to end the cycle. I know it.”

"We can but hope."

Auron nods.

He settles by the mouth of the cave, leans against the wall and closes his eyes, feigning sleep. More out of habit than actual necessity. 

Yuna is trying to pronounce Al Bhed properly, keeping herself awake and focused so Aten can have Ifrit.

Anri makes it into a game, helping pronunciation where ey can.

She occasionally looks over to Auron and Masque, wondering what they were talking about, but is easily brought back into playing the game.

Raeli joins in as well, and seems to, at least a little, be trying to distract Yuna from Masquerade and Auron. (Perhaps she knows, somewhat, what they're discussing.)
