Aten flickers up and his flames move in time with the music.

“Is this right?” Yuna murmurs to Lulu.

“You wanted your journey to be full of laughter. A terrible thing has happened, but we all want to smile with you while we can.”

She nods, and smiles. “Okay.”

"Cid always used to say that the best way to mourn someone was to celebrate their life."

“I just...you’re right. I don’t want the spirits of the Ronso to be sad.”

“Ronso proud people. Will be proud of Yuna.”

"Everyone will be," Anri agrees, and behind eir smile there's a sadness.

Yuna can almost hear the regret in Anri's voice, so she holds out her hand to em. "Dance with me?"

Ey takes the hand. "Of course."

"Okay!" She pulls Anri along, skipping and twirling.

Anri goes happily, eir laughter ringing out in delight.

Auron doesn't begrudge her this little happiness, especially since he knows what's coming next. He even laughs at the antics of the two.

Lulu joins in every so often to twirl Yuna around, laughing softly.

Masquerade speeds up a little, falling in beside Auron. "You know what comes next," they say quietly. It isn't a question.

He makes an affirmative noise.

"And when all is done. Will you go to your rest?"

"If I'm right about Yuna, that will not be soon."

"Ah. To be young and not-yet-dead again. Such hope."

"You haven't found being essentially immortal enticing?"

"I am what I am. My existence is, really, a minor thing. I have a promise to keep. After that...we'll see. Eternity can be very lonely."

"Very true. And it is good to hear that you have no designs to stay. Wouldn't want you becoming a real fiend."

Masquerade laughs quietly. "There is much that ties me to what little humanity I have ever been able to claim."

"I wonder if you'll reveal just what."

"I'm an open book, you just need to know the language."
