Macalania Wood is known as one of the most beautiful, most serene places in Spira. Crystals glimmer on every branch, pools of water like lustrous gems collect under huge, blue trees.
Yuna couldn’t admire its beauty. She was barely affected by the gentle wind, the soft music of the water. Her heart was broken, the remnants barely enough to keep her going.
She put one foot in front of the other, following her guardians, tears gently dripping down her face.
"Yes. And they're very devout. With everything that happened in Bevelle, I can't imagine that they'd be happy to see me." Yuna sounds sad about that. "But this is Kimahri's home! He looks frightened to return!"
A small, fond smile curls Yuna’s lips. “That’s just Kimahri. He doesn’t like talking when action is better. I can remember when he took me from Bevelle to Besaid. He didn’t talk once, but I was never afraid.”
"I can imagine not," Anri agrees. "What would you have to fear with Kimhari there?"
Anri squeezes her hand. "We'll be fine," ey assures. "You've got good people looking after you."
Yuna tucks her head into Anri's neck briefly, trying to convey all the things she wants em to know, even though they've only known each other a day.
The passes with a few fights, all Spiran fauna, no sinspawn. Mount Gagazet looms ever closer.
Two Ronso stand on either side of the path leading up into the mountain. They growl as the group gets closer.
"Sacred Mount Gagazet is forbidden to you!" A third ronso appears.
Maester Kelk Ronso.
Kimahri heaves a breath, then steps forward.
"Kelk care about Yevon. Why not stop Mika and Seymour returning? Why follow Yevon rules when Maester's themselves do not?"
The Maester seems to falter.
"If we do not, then we can never atone, and we will have Sin forever."
"Big guy has a point about the Maesters. If they don't follow Yevon, how can anyone else atone? "
