"I never even got to say goodbye," Yuna says, though she doesn't seem close to tears. She sounds regretful, but a little more centred.

Anri joins them at that point, pressing eir shoulder against Yuna's again. "Hasira says that 'goodbye' just makes things harder. 'Goodbye' is a sad memory."

Yuna nods, smiling, but subconsciously sends a memory through the bond to Aten-

"Yuna, promise me you won't go. Promise me!"

"Tidus I-"

"You are not going to die for nothing I won't...I..."

"...Tidus? TIDUS!"

Then, a swirl of pyreflies, slowly twisting away. There's the soft sound of a whistle.

Aten sends warmth and comfort back to her, the only thing he can really think to do.

Yuna leads into Anri. "I think sometimes you need a moment to at least tell them something you never got to say. Otherwise those words can haunt you."

Anri wraps eir arm around Yuna's shoulders. "I suppose that's true," ey agrees quietly.

"Thank you, as well, for last night. I think I needed that more than I thought. It's been a long couple of weeks," Yuna says apologetically.

"Hey, I'm glad to help," Anri assures her. "I know what holding everything inside looks like, feels like. Sometimes we just need to...let it all out."

"I kept thinking I had to keep smiling, but it...it started to feel heavy. I don't want happiness to feel that way."

"It shouldn't. And you don't have to. You shouldn't pretend you're happy when you're not. I don't think any of us want that. Let us be there for you when you can't be happy." Pauses , shrugs a little. "That really, is true happiness: Knowing that we did everything we could for you. Even if it wasn't always smiles."

Yuna sits still, a little stunned by Anri's words. And then, a genuine smile breaks out across her lips, and she hugs Anri closely. "Thank you. I feel like I've been waiting for someone to say that."

Kimahri interrupts to hand the girls food.

Auron is awake too, staring stonily at the path that will lead them over the mountain.

"Thank you," Anri says with a nod to Kimahri, and goes about eating, although ey eyes Auron. "What's his deal?" ey asks Yuna quietly.

"He was my father's guardian. He saw him become High Summoner, I guess he's just trying to make sure I get to be the same."

Anri hums thoughtfully, and turns most of eir attention back to eir breakfast.

Once everyone's finished, Auron rounds them up and instructs Kimahri to lead the way.

Kimahri does, but there is a set to his shoulders that isn't usually there.

Yuna's teeth worry along her lip to see that.

Anri walks beside Yuna again, and silently takes her hand.

Aten floats along just over Yuna's head.

"He's not usually like this," Yuna whispers to Anri and Aten.

Aten's focus sharpens, as he starts to pay more attention to their surroundings than he already is.

Anri squeezes Yuna's hand gently. "This is where the Ronso come from isn't it?"
