"Should I watch some Elf figure skating?"

"I wouldn't go so far as 'best form of entertainment' but it's awfully fun."

So he recommends some Elf figure skating routines. 

And Cam takes notes. "For whenever I feel like watching something. For whatever it's worth human figure skating - or daeva - gets pretty good too, people just get really excited over the same handful of tricks executed in every routine. ...Fairies cheat, they don't count."

"We practically cheat. There are blessings for it."

"Then," says Cam, "I will judge the skaters by fairy standards, see if I don't."

"How terribly unfair of you! We cheat, we don't have fully general telekinesis!"

Wag. "Well, the fairies aren't supposed to outright fly while they're skating, so surely it evens out?"

"How will I ever explain to my citizens that I picked a boyfriend who has unreasonably high standards for their figure skating? It'll be ruinous, politically!"

"...how much are you planning to have public?"

"That's a complicated problem which you probably have some insight into and which I am willing to discuss with you, congratulations."

"I wouldn't actually object to you discussing it with Findekáno if that seems like it might be useful, you know."

"I appreciate that. I - mine's not dramatic, that doesn't mean he's over it, and he'd be tremendously helpful but I'm going to be leaning on him hard enough in a professional capacity and leaning on him in a personal capacity in addition to that seems probably unfair."
