Yep. Even before you multiply it by probably a hundred million. 

He sits down. "I suppose you've asked Nechar if he can do anything."

"I have not. What would he be able to do?"

"Safely put you in a coma until we find magic that can fix it, maybe?"

"...might ask about that after the wedding."

That would represent a less-depressing improvement!

Squeeze. Sigh. "Matt, I don't suppose there are any secret project notes or whatever that you know for sure didn't fall into Enemy hands -"

"No. I've been perusing a lot of Earth media, enough to pretty much convince myself Earth exists or existed - but I can't be completely sure -"

"Do you want recommendations or would that be beside the point?"

"Oh, did you grow up on an Earth like Edie did? Recommendations would be lovely!"

(Circle winces slightly.)

...Cam notices the wince, doesn't know what to make of it. "Yeah, I grew up on the same Earth Edie did, actually. What've you gone through already, some stuff has prerequisites."

So he lists off some late-20th-century media, with comments - mostly about the acting, he really adores good acting, he really likes this one actor and he couldn't watch this show because the cinematography wasn't pretty enough...

And Cam sorts through his notes on various things for stuff with good acting and cinematography, and picks some books, and assembles a list and makes a copy for Matt.

"Thank you so much," he says, and practically skips off upstairs.

"Should I be creeped," Cam asks Circle.

"I mean, he's decided it will be more comfortable for everyone if he stops acting like a font of depressing comments and starts acting like a person, so he's doing that now. It'd be convincing if it'd been less abrupt. I don't know if you should be creeped. I don't know what to - I don't think I actually can go hopping around the multiverse killing a hundred million mes - maybe it gets easier -"

"Maybe." At least Cam did not have to kill everybody he killed one at a time up close.

Hug.

Sigh. Hug.

"Sorry it just keeps - coming up -"

"It's fine, it's the sort of thing that comes up, I'm not going to hole up in my room and play golf simulators forever to avoid being reminded."

"Good, I'd be pretty worried if you took to that."

"Golf simulators are terrible," says Cam. "They simulate golf. Why would anyone want to do that?"

"We should test-drive some of those zero-g games I want to give Tyelcormo and Edie for their wedding."

"Yes. We must make sure they are better than golf."
