Edie was perusing the latest correspondence from her fork. She still should have been paying enough attention to realize that the door didn't go where it ought before it swung shut and she couldn't sense anyone else anymore, but she wasn't.
After opening and closing the door a couple times to make sure she hadn't just been abducted somehow, she looks around.
"You look and sound and move like Idaia and she has been dead thirty thousand years."
"She could probably have given herself wings if we wanted for some reason."
"I'm sorry you lost her," she says helplessly. "I'm sure she must have loved you very much."
We have to do something, she tells her own Tyelcormo, this is not okay.
Yeah I noticed. "Uh," he says, "do you have the same family I've got, are they okay -"
"A lot of different kinds. There was a war. It was really really awful."
"They...tend to do that, yeah, in the Space Arda this one isn't from Valinor got sucked into a black hole at one point."
"Would grabbing the non-evil Maitimo--the other one-planet Arda's Maitimo is evil--actually, for all we know yours is too, I hope not--anyway would bringing in Maitimo help or not that."
"...Because he does people stuff? Or was that in response to 'there is an evil Maitimo,' because there is, he's a rapist."
"N-n-n-n-n-nooooope we can fix everything in your world please just stay here a bit -" and he blocks him. Maitimo come help there's an alt of me from thirty thousand years in the future and he's a disaster please come!
He stands up, "can you dress me, it's faster, Tyelcormo says and I quote 'Maitimo come help there's an alt of me from thirty thousand years in the future and he's a disaster please come!'"
"Do you mind? Depending on the variety of disaster - I feel like at this point I'm braced for every flavor of horribleness but I'm probably wrong -"
When they arrive downstairs they see a Tyelcormo with his hair just longer than shoulder-length and in a ponytail, wearing a shirt that says 'staff, Zion National Park', and staring blankly at Edie, who is looking distressed, and Edie's Tyelcormo, who is tugging his alt away from the door and saying 'just wait a second, they're coming.'
