" - They should be stacking sandbags, there's nothing down there - "

"They aren't."

"You mentioned a redhead in your message - is she still around - "

"Not down here that I've seen. But I haven't seen a body yet, so I'd prefer to assume yes."

" - Look I need to call this in. You guys need to - get the dust off you - there's a hazmat shower - "

"We've already showered," Jenn repeats - dust, not any more, now the dust is mud, but the dust possibly explains why the note said to take the gas mask. "Look. Can you get us out of here and then call it in? We're in the open with no way to defend ourselves."

"I'm up here alone! It's seven in the morning, everyone's asleep - you guys need to get inside, or in the hazmat suits, I'll call you back in five minutes - "

"We'll get in the hazmat suits. But then you will get us out of here." Jenn is done negotiating about this.

"I need to ask my boss, okay? There's no protocol for this!"

Jenn is quiet for a long moment. "Five minutes. Don't take any unnecessary risks."

"Right. You either." And she hangs up.

"Bina?" Jenn turns looking for her companion.

"I got the hazmat suits, since I heard you talking about them," Bina says. "I want to go ahead and look in the truck, while we're waiting - we might need that journal Twelve mentioned, anyways, so not going up right away's good."

Jenn nods, considers the size of the hazmat suits. "We're going to need to do some DIY to get one of these to fit you, I think."

"Yeah. Uh. Probably there's tape somewhere?"

Jenn looks around. "Okay. We've been without them so far. I'll go find tape, you find the journal?"

"Works for me. I'll take the curtains? There might be broken glass or something. Probably is."

"That was my thought when I took them down," Jenn agrees with a nod, and goes to see if she can find some kind of tape. (...And maybe poke at that desk. She hadn't had a chance earlier.)

"Right, thanks!"

And Bina's off to wrestle with a truck.

The desk contains numerous folders, many of them properly in the filing cabinet, all stamped with "CODEWORD CLEARANCE: CELADON JUNGLE" in bright red.

She doesn't really care about clearance levels right now, so she flips one open to see what's inside.

It appears to be descriptions of the bodies found. All of them have abnormalities - too many overlapping ribcages, multiple arms, fused skulls... Most shouldn't have survived infancy, let alone to adulthood. All of them interact strangely with electronics - any photographs come out green and static-filled.

-Nothing good then. She closes the files, and goes to hunt down that tape.

It can be found relatively quickly, in with a small assortment of supplies - duct tape, a screwdriver, scissors, office supplies like pens and sticky notes.

She doesn't have pockets, but they do have the backpack, and goodness only knows what they'll need. She grabs the duct tape and scissors, along with the screwdriver, and couple of pens, and one of the pads.

Bina, meanwhile, has managed to successfully get the truck's glove compartment open, after much struggling, and stuffs her pockets with the stash inside before wiggling back out.
