"No idea... Ooh, and maybe all adult wizards are at work and wizard children too small to walk the street themselves are at home..."

"That still leaves quite a range, and we don't seem to be finding any of any kind anyway!"

Temple pats him in the back. "Hey, we found each other so at least magical people finding each other outside the presumed-magic conspiracy is still possible."

"Again, still don't know that you're not a conspirator."

Temple sporfles. "That is just what you would say if you were a conspirator tricking me into a false sense of security!"

"Likewise."

"Sigh. I guess I will have to invent truth-detection. After the dramatic thunder spell. Got to have priorities."

"I hope you're joking."

"I didn't have enough of a plan to actually joke about, but truth detection might be hard enough that it can't be done without extensive work, while dramatic thunder would be simpler." Temple shrugs. "What I reeeeeally want is measuring my own mana now, it bugs me."

"If you make a truth-detection spell and it works we can fully trust each other and work on that together."

"How about this. I will give one go, like, ten minutes, of brainstorming the thunder spell then I work on the truth detection for maybe a day or two. Assuming I don't think of a better avenue for the mana measurement. That damn tug of low mana is my nemesis."

"Why do you expect the truth detection spell to be that much harder? Other than, you know, the obvious."

"Creating sound and light is basically a spin on the things already did, just more precisely. While truth-detection involves at least some form of mind-reading and that sounds harder?"

"This magic system seems to be fueled by dramaticism, though. Like, if you just compose a poem about how much you want to know the truth..."

"...or if you find a poem that someone composed about knowing the truth? There ought to be one of those around."

"I didn't necessarily mean an actual poem, just. Something along the lines of the other spells."

"Man, why do you have to be so practical and non-dramatic?"

"To be truthful, though, I will totally have endless fun creating the most outrageous chants with this."
