It's her first evening away from home, and even Papa's strong mental presence has left her range by now.
It's lonely.
She knows that humans aren't lesser than mutants, per se, but she's still used to a different flavor of minds thrumming against hers when she's trying to go to sleep.
She and Emily aren't the only mutants on campus, though. There aren't a lot of them, but there's one other, at least...
She reaches out to them.

He’ll change course from “aimless wandering around campus”.
"In that case, it works like this!" she says brightly, and grabs her sister around the waist with one arm, and him with the other, and all three of them shoot up into the air.
He gasps and then laughs in delight as they soar upwards.
”Ahaha, oh my god, we can’t have enough metal for this, right? How does this work? Oh my god!”
“Yeah, but! What’s lifting us?”
He laughs again, watching the ground plummet away from them. Flying!
It works by my personal magnetic field pushing off against the Earth's.
Well, that makes sense to him!
He's just gonna keep looking around and laughing hysterically.

He looks down and wow that is a long distance, huh?
His heart is now trying to pound out of his chest. In a good way, though.
He has started yelling at the people on the ground.
"Hey! Heeeeey! You're all suckers and I get to fly now!"

She kind of really wants to hug him but that would be profoundly unwise under the current circumstances.

He thinks if he drops even an inch his heart might stop for a minute. This is great!
After some brief sisterly consultation they drop into freefall for a few seconds before Emily pulls back out into a swoop.
He screams a little in excitement when they start to drop. His heart is pounding out of his chest.
For a moment, he imagines what it would be like to hit the ground--
And then they pull up, and he is just completely flooded with adrenaline, and god this is the best thing ever. He's laughing too hard to catch his breath.
