It's her first evening away from home, and even Papa's strong mental presence has left her range by now.
It's lonely.
She knows that humans aren't lesser than mutants, per se, but she's still used to a different flavor of minds thrumming against hers when she's trying to go to sleep.
She and Emily aren't the only mutants on campus, though. There aren't a lot of them, but there's one other, at least...
She reaches out to them.

He waves goodbye as she leaves, and...
...well, might as well get the library stuff out of the way early. He heads out.
Emily catches up to him in the library.
"Edie told me everything that happened."
"...yeah, that."
He crosses his arms on the table where he's been working.
"I kinda thought we'd have a couple weeks before the shit started."
She sits down next to him, and says, in a low voice so no one else will hear: "Don't worry. Whatever happens, we'll win. We have both de jure super powers and the de facto power of money. You're not alone anymore."
"...thanks."
He looks away a little bit.
"Nobody's ever offered to buy my way out of being the weird kid."
"No no no no, I'm offering to crush them in a lawsuit if things escalate too far."
"Can you delay regenerating long enough for us to get photographic evidence?"
"...not sure. I can't if I pass out but I know I can hold it back enough to take a needle out and put an earring in, stuff like that."
"And there was apparently a plan to take revenge on Edie separately from you."
"Not if she caught it ahead of time, but she didn't catch the ipecac, so."
